What is GamerGate about?
GamerGate is an organized movement of "men's rights activists" that oppose "social justice warriors" - specifically inside the video game industry.

What changes does GamerGate want to see?
The removal of "social justice warriors" from the game industry.

Why does GamerGate want these changes?
I'd rather they explain that themselves.

How does GamerGate go about making those changes happen?

• Documented communication plan for how to discuss GamerGate with the public and how to handle shills and the opposition.
• Organized operations to starve "unethical game journalism sites" of revenue by browbeating the marketing managers of any company that advertises on those sites to pull their ads.
• Organized operations to shut down journalism sites they disagree with by interfering with their business.
• Organized operations to convince advertising networks to cancel contracts with game journalism websites.
• Organized operations to manipulate Steam rankings of curators they disagree with.
• Organized operations to persuade politicians to condemn game journalism sites.
• Organized raid IRC channels as a base of operations for planning the harassment of "social justice warriors".

You might notice they have a lot of documentation and organization for a group that claims they're, as Gadarene put it...

1. The original core of the Gamergate movement was to explore the extent to which professional video game reviewers were facing conflicts of interest due to their association with developers and publishers.

2. What it wants to see is:

a. Reviewers with conflicts of interest forced to disclose those conflicts

b. Developers and publishers forced to back off and allow their works to be rated solely on their own merits

c. Hypocrites within the "progressive" movement exposed for the kinds of people who they really are.

3. Why shouldn't they want these changes?

4. They more radical aspect is using the exact same tactics that radical "progressives" have used over the last decade-plus to try and silence people who stood in their way. Or have we forgotten such "glorious" moments for the progressive cause as the anthrax scares against Proposition 8 supporters?

Let's face it: nobody's nose is clean here. If anything, Gamergate is adopting the very same tactics being used against it and other groups that challenge the "progressive" party line.

Really? Where can I join an operation designed to censor a pro-GamerGate journalist or attempt to get them fired or destroy their employer financial in an effort to extort the employer to fire the journalist? Where can I find the raid channel to help plan the harassment of MRAs? These things don't exist.

This is an excuse for committing crimes.

As you can see in my image above, posting nude pictures of Zoe Quinn on Wikipedia will definitely teach those progressive journalists a thing or two about ethics. It looks like GamerGate can teach us all a lot about ethics - specifically what qualifies as unethical and illegal behavior.

Last week one of the mods at "GamerGhazi" a anti-gamergate reddit forum named, lifestyled doxxed a AAA game designer after he came out as pro-gamergate.

They also held a discussion where they talked about what is and isn't doxxing, it turns out when they dislike the target doxxing someone is merely "disarming them of their anonymity".

And we can also talk about how most of the GG meetups have had people calling bomb threats, or the SPJ meeting a week or so ago that was discussing GG, (oddly enough none of the anti-gg people wanted to show up for the debate) where note one but ten bomb threats were called in.

Sarkeesian is a well known liar who has repeatedly made up things in her videos about different games. Sarkeesian has made herself quite a good deal of money by claiming to be harassed.

Wu... seriously? Wu? The same woman who went onto steam and forgot to log out of her account when she put up a, "HOW MUCH DO YOU HATE BRIANNA WU?" then deleted it after people called her out on it?

As for Quinn... she's hardly an angel, she was a well known poster at Something Awful forum "helldump" where people were doxxed and terrorized. She's gone on to create "Crash Override Network" where she "helps people harassed online" except it looks like the people she doesn't have any actual help but hey she's got it registered as a charity so it's not taxable.

I keep hearing claims that Gamergate is a movement done by MRA's. Can someone please link me the evidence of this?
