Tomorrow, I participate in my first election. Turns out my dad does not know all that much about everyone on the ballot, which disappoints me. I have to decide before I go there who I'm voting for, because if I just sit there I'll take up time and anger everyone in line behind me.

Also, if you had somebody that you tasked with managing money, would you be ok with them using some of your taxpayer dollars to re-decorate her office? And would you be ok with someone who allowed insurance companies to replace damaged cars with imitation replacement parts, rather than genuine parts? What about voting for someone because they are a "friend"?

@grandvizier1006 Ooo, I hope you find discovering all about the different candidates interesting! The reasons behind voting are always quite fascinating. I'm afraid as a rather simple being my vote goes to the person who stands for things I find the least disagreeable.

I've never voted in anything other than state or national elections. Funny story, my dad's company is getting "buddy-buddy" with a Houston mayoral candidate, and one day this conversation happened with my mom:

Mom: Yeah, I'm going to vote for him!
Me: You can't vote for him.
Mom: Of course I can vote for him, what do you mean I can't vote for him.
Me: We don't live in Houston city limits.
Mom: Oh right... forgot about that detail.

It was quite fun, actually. And also very time-consuming and a little disturbing, given the allegations of corruption behind some candidates and the criminal records of some local ones. For the most part, though, it's just a choice between some well-qualified individuals. I've almost decided on everything just in time, but there are still a few decisions I have left to make.

I hate how cliquish CF Singles is. Even the people I thought were my friends are ignoring me and showering their attention on, well, our resident jerks.

I may leave this forum soon. My life is really falling apart and I can't handle feeling out-of-place in yet another area of my life...

I'm so sorry you feel that way. I hope you don't go. I admit I don't post on here a lot, especially not lately...I just kind of lurk. I'm not sure why, I'm usually much more out and about in forums and such. Anyway, I know you don't really know me but if you ever need an ear, I'll listen. I may not have any answers but I'll listen and pray for you.

Yes I've noticed this too lately....... I've noticed a few "choosen" ones who don't engage with me hahahahahaha it makes me chuckle.. too cool for their own good more like..

BUT it's it swing round again doll and it will go back to being ok

I'd talk to you more, I just don't see you post on CF very often. And I usually find one on one conversations awkward. (that goes with anybody).

I'm much better chatting in a group with people.

Im so scatter brained that sometimes I only respond to people that respond to me.

The third season for Dexter is alright. Not as exciting as the second, but eh..

Hope the fourth season is good too. My next Netflix binge show will probably be Sons Of Anarchy..
