Which was your favourite cartoon from your youth, and what did you like about it? Have you watched any again more recently, and what was it like now if you did?
Lol I just do, even when the kids are not at home sometimes. Hahaha I wonder what the neighbours think. Who cares?Hmm, that is a difficult question. Some of my favorites were Digimon, Darkwing Duck, Monster Rancher, and the Land Before Time series. I have not seen anything of in a quite a while.
That being said, though I suppose it might be a bit of a point of shame at my age, I still like animation and cartoons. The nostalgic factor is probably one reason, but, truth be told, I am struggling with life right now. I think a simple, light-hearted film or cartoon can prove appealing during hard times. Honestly, I would like to see at least some of them again.
Oh yes there were some cartoons, Flintstones and Calimero and Scooby Doo and Remi from Sans Famille.Growing up as a kid we had 3 channels. ABC, NBC and CBS and that was it (ok PBS also but nobody watched it).
The only time cartoons were on was after school and Saturday morning.
We watched the Flintstones after school and Little Rascals (which was not a cartoon).
On Saturday morning there was Speed Buggy, Hong Kong Phooey and the Bugs Bunny Road Runner hour.
Years later when we got cable I continued to watch Bugs Bunny as it is the best cartoon ever made, it is not even a debate unless you are going up against Tom and Jerry but Bugs Bunny is still better.
My sister had two cats, one thin one, white with a bit of black spots and a fat red one she named Odie and Garfield.Garfield. I was a huge fan and obssessed.
I liked the humour of it. Also, I really like cats. They are just cleverer than dogs.
But ive grown out of it. I think the early ones were best. It was a comic strip before it was a cartoon.
I havent revisited it, but the movies were a disappointment. Im not into CGI, and the humour has kinda dumbed down. I think it reached its peak in the mid eighties. After about 1989 it kinda lost steam.
