There is a movie called "Max" that makes you wonder "what if" he had pursued a career in art, instead of politics.

Im pretty sure the story is fictional, with facts thrown in... but it was an interesting watch.

Some people were upset about the movie cause it humanizes the man behind the monster.... but I think thats important. People think he was a monster.... they feel like only certain people are capable of such vileness. When the truth is, Hitler was an example of the despicable levels humanity can reach.... depending on the road taken. Not just one man.

Sadly, I think him being homeless and seeing the slaughter of men in WW1 made him very cold.

What? Hitler was with plenty of women in his lifetime. He was extremely dominating and would walk around with a riding crop. He was pretty much the Christian Grey of his day. But realistically many of his women attempted suicide, lol.

That and the armistice that made all those deaths and almost the death of himself feel worthless to their sacrifice. So in his eyes, going through that... for what amounted to nothing... fueled his rage.

Add in the fact that he came home to nothing..... being homeless and Id assume the visions of those deaths that would likely haunt him every night.....

I can't say what kind of after life a man like that deserves. I have a pretty good idea..... but... its not my place to judge. Not judging though, doesnt mean I have to respect him.... his actions were by his own choice and while his life may have been unfortunate and hard...... you are STILL responsible for your own actions. No matter how much people of today (and through out history) love to blame everyone else.

With the level of political power he reached, he could have gone the opposite route instead, so hard life or not.... it doesn't justify his actions.

Yeah? So what, there are tons of actors for example that date/marry women all the time. Then years later come out. Just cause they have been with women, doesn't mean they are straight if deep down they want to be with men.

Doubt it. He kept his relationship with Eva Braun a secret, because he wanted to be seen as a lone man devoted to Germany. If he were not attracted to women why go through the trouble?

The most I'd say is that he had a low sex drive.

Yes no one knew about them till after their death.


And apparently they had a normal life together

Depends what you mean by normal. He neglected her a lot, and she had attempted suicide before out of desperation (and a possible cry for some attention) and he was apparently fine with her going down in flames with him.

The only nice thing I can think of is that he at least married her in the end.

It's funny, Hitler is known as a horrible man but it seems all the more real to me when I read about how he actually treated the women in his life. You'd think the man would have at least some redeeming qualities regarding some aspects of his life.. lol.

I had too edit my post as we can't talk about certain things....

Hitler was a genius; mental all the same like but still a genius.


It was all a game to him, like a giant chessboard that what is life was about and you can't have redeeming qualities when playing the game..

I suppose at the end marrying her as he had nothing left but her really....

Well, history is blind to what you did last..... a lot of his Nazi brothers came to America after the war and became "heroes" by playing a part in getting us to the moon first.

I wasn't discounting him being bi, but the idea he was not into women. Doubt he was bi, but his willingness to look the other way from homosexual acts from people like Ernst Rohm is a little shocking. As far as persecution of homosexuals goes, Himmler was the first one to really push it, and it most likely stemmed from his hatred and rivalry of Ernst Rohm.

I agree, the man was a genius.... its just a shame he did the world harm instead of good.

Some of the things from Hitlers mind are still around today.

However, we have highways because of him...... so.. no wonder being stuck on them is a sick and sadistic game.

He was probably a genius, and he understood how to manipulate other people. Still, he did some foolish things, and only succeeded mainly out of luck. He was probably driven a lot by emotions. And managed to fall in the right place at the right time.

Stalin on the other hand was more sociopathic and calculating. If he had Hitler's risk taking personality he might have continued the war after Germany's defeat and could have ended up losing everything. (although Stalins secret knowledge of America's atomic bomb program may have stopped him too, lol.)

Maybe redeeming qualities isn't the right word but Hitler was capable of empathy at least. I wouldn't write him off as this completely soulless creature. The scary part is that Hitler's sadism is probably not all that unique.
