I listen to mostly old school moderate rock/hard rock/metal and heavy metal. Some bands have in my collection are Angelica, Barren Cross, Bloodgood, Daniel Band, Deliverance, Rob Rock, Rob Rock's Driver, Guardian, Holy Soldier, Joshua, King James/Rex Carroll/Whitecross, Ken Tamplin/Shout, Magdallan/Magdalen, John Elefante/Mastedon, Petra, John Schlitt, Rez Band, Ken Tamplin/Shout, Theocracy, Sacred Warrior, Saint, Recon, Michael Sweet, Stryper, Siloam, The Brave, Fear Not, X-Sinner/GX, Whiteheart, etc. I am also a big fan of Impellitteri. They aren't a Christian band but Rob Rock who is a Christian is the main lead singer and writes the lyrics.

Anybody mentioned Godflesh yet?

Godflesh is legendary. Hard to put into a single subgenre, though...although the term, 'Industrial', suits them best and might have even been coined to describe them in particular, it's hard to say. Their 'comeback album' last year was top-notch, which was surprising, given how many years they remained dormant.

I like some other bands that sort of tread in this territory, even if only lightly. Some of my own recordings are kind of industrial doom, but with more psychedelia.

Agreed, good summary.

I only got into them the other year as I'm more into Hip-Hop and Classic Rock but they impressed me quite a bit.

Favourite album is Streetcleaner.

Disciple's Battle Lines seems to have Biblical themes.

The music is really good. I am not one for clean vocals though when I listen to metal. I like a lot of bands that sing clean but when it comes to brutal music I just love to hear the growls. That's why I like Impending Doom so much. They really kick it out.

I love metal. Is it anti-christian though?

Metal is a musical style, so is neither anti-Christian nor pro-Christian. Lyrics can be anti-Christian, and maybe metal has a greater tendency to those, but that doesn't make the concept of metal bad in any way.
