Randomness is a constraint of perpetual order, in relative destruction.

At some point, randomness becomes either synchronic or diachronic depending on whether the threshold of the ratio of order to destruction is reached in favour of perpetuity or one or other form of relativity.

What, if anything, is random? and what are the consequences?

Nothing is random. There are forces we don't understand...and we sometimes call those random.
But really...all they are is "mystery."

Nothing is random. Things happen according to the laws of physics. Random is simply a term we use to describe an outcome that we could not predict or is unlikely but the fact that it happens isn't truly random. Not in the physical world anyway. If something explodes outta nowhere there's definitely a cause and all that happened was physics followed suit of a cause.

"Random" is probably best described in a system that expects an intended result, but a result that is intended to be unpredictable. Like drawing a name from a hat. Or using an RNG.

Are the laws of physics random?

No! Randomicity is when something or some process occurs either preceding, made, or occurring void of aim, reason, or purpose. The laws of physics are consistent, dependable, predictable and serve a particular ends, therefore the laws of physics not only are NOT random but could not have arisen randomly or by coincidence (a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection synonymous with by chance, accident, fortuity, or happenstance). A law establishes parameters and/or guides processes…studying the parameters of a matter and distinguishing the reliable guiding processes of an occurrence allows us to recognize and determine those lawful operations and reactions. How then can something directed and under limitations and controls be random? They cannot! Many many things as well as functions in the Universe show reliable, dependable, predictability. When discovered we can use this in many applicable ways. For me this lawful dependability demonstrates the involvement of intent. Not anything that has never been or ever happened, suddenly is, or happens, for no reason without a cause and it cannot be its own cause.

Kind of, but quantum mechanics is demonstrably stochastic, and if randomness means anything in the real world, QM has randomness at its core; it's a complicated situation - here's a very good article on the subject.
