Our service usually lasts two and half hours, followed by a potluck for an hour or two, followed by prayer, classes, and roundtable discussions, followed by a Spanish service. I usually don't stay the full length, but many people make a day out of it.

If you don't have a detailed sermon, is there other teaching that a large proportion of you fellowship go to?

You misunderstand me. We always have detailed sermons, but none are longer than 15 minutes. What I was talking about are some (older) priests who tend to rush through the liturgy so fast that while the congregation are on "Our Father..." he has already got to "And lead us not into temptation..." LOL. :)

It always depends on \how long the rector prattles on! LOL

In all seriousness, anywhere from 50min to 70min, generally depending on the length of announcements. The sermon generally lasts 8-12min (15 at the very most!). If we use Eucharistic Prayer "D" on Sunday, then that generally extends the service a bit as well.

LOL! A sermon longer than 10 minutes means I'm no longer listening. Let's get back to singing or praying, please! ^_^

I once heard someone say they had heard many a bad sermon but they had never been to a bad Eucharist.

I have attended Anglican mass at four parishes: one continuing, one ACNA, one REC (I know REC is an ACNA affiliate but it still behaves like an independent in many ways), and one TEC. I can't speak for the TEC service because we had our fill after about forty minutes and did not stay much past the offertory, but none of the others were ever under an hour. The ACNA parish was using its own unique mission liturgy loosely based on the '79 prayer book. The continuing parish and REC were both using versions of the '28 prayer book and neither read the OT lesson or Psalm in the liturgy of the word. The TEC parish was using Rite II with the maximum amount of music permitted by the rubrics.

I have also attended mass at an Ordinariate parish and that ran about 1:20 depending on the length of the homily.

The one I've been visiting has both a Rite I service and a Rite II. I prefer the Rite II as they don't sing during the Rite I. It takes about 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 30 min and the sermons range from 10 minutes to 20 minutes sometimes, or maybe it just feels like it. If I include Sunday School, it would be 3 hours. If I chose to stay for each service, starting from Morning Prayer all the way to the end of the Rite II service, I would be there for about five hours.

Apparently I was wrong, my parish is completely a Rite I parish. oopsies. :p

We usually run to about an hour, give or take ten minutes. Variables include things like how many notices there are (right at the end of the service), the children's talk (usually, and after the gospel reading and before the sermon), how many people there are so how long communion takes, who's preaching and how long the sermon goes for, and so on. Obviously it's going to be longer for a baptismal service or another special event. I'm talking about the 10am Sunday morning Eucharist - I think the 8 o'clock service might be a little shorter (fewer people).

I think our sermons are usually around the 15-minute mark, but both our parish priests are very engaging speakers, so I don't think anyone minds (and I grew up in Baptist churches, so, you know... I grew up with 50-minute sermons, I find 15-20 minutes delightfully refreshing).

People usually hang around for another hour or so for tea and biscuits, the choir meets immediately after the service to go through what we're singing the next week (we just have a choir for communion), and then I'm usually on the organ for an hour because it's my only chance to practice, so all up I'm there for about two to two-and-a-half hours on a Sunday morning.

I wouldn't know what rite we are, but we use "A Prayer Book for Australia".

One of my favorite services is Nine Lessons & Carols. That was under an hour last year.

One of my least favorite services, at least from a '28 prayer book, is the baptismal service - which is rather long, especially compared to a Lutheran service (or even an OO service). We had our daughter baptized at a REC affiliate and that was the order of service used.
