It's the saddest thing when christians decide that someone should die because they are a sinner.
God says all sin leads to death, no one sin is greater than another, its all sin.
God gave us a chance by sending Jesus to die for us. Anyone can believe in him.
Don't condemn someone to hell because of your feelings.

That is a shame. There is even saving grace for those God would call abominable and detestable.

To consider yourself 'unsaveable' or unworthy demonstrates a woeful misunderstanding of God's character.

I've been in that stuff about Cecil the lion. Its very sad, and the dentist should be processed by law.
However, so many CHRISTIANS, are saying he should be KILLED.
I am like.... Wow, so much for grace and mercy.

It's disgusting, but it's nothing new unfortunately.

It's quite worrying how quick some Christians can be condemn others to death.

I know.
Just imagine, if paul lived now days christians would have killed him. Then there would have been no awesome letters from paul....

God never said to kill those trying to kill you. I know its hard to imagine, but he never said that.

Have someone killed over a lion?!?!? Wow...that is disturbing.

On a separate note: I found my devo book by Spurgeon!
Not really. What's more disturbing is what he did too the poor animal.

Although I do want to see people respect animal life.
I think people are very radical with their views.
Also, it seems people always focus on specks of problems and travesties while being so myopic to forget they're standing on a mountain of far more pressing concerns.

Quite frankly I think if it wasn't for the traditional view of hell as eternal conscious torment in the first place, then people like the ones you've mentioned wouldn't feel comfortable enough condemning others to it (not making a personal accusation of that to anyone here in the singles section, mind you, just making a generic observation from debates and discussions all around the Internet I've been a part of or witness to over the years). Even as a conditionalist I don't think anyone has a right to call someone else out on sin in a condemning way. Kandi's right; sin is sin. The hypocritical judging amongst believers is like some endless cycle; every time someone seems hypocritical for judging another on his/her sin and yet clearly harboring one of his own, then the victim of the criticism or those defending him won't stop judging the condemner on their hypocrisy (especially if this is all taking place on the Internet) as way of revenge. Why can't we all just stop this?

Sometimes in anger people say thing that they actually don't mean.

Hey, Fire Girl has returned! Or at least this is the first I myself have seen of you since your temporary goodbye topic. :)

Honestly in the end I avoid legalistic, better than you, or otherwise people who think they've ascended higher so they can control or otherwise judge. I can tell quickly most of the time. Therefore, I don't really encounter people who are so brash to say somebody should die for killing a lion. Legal action? Perhaps. Death seems radical, and overly judgmental.

Human life should always take priority over animal life, regardless of how detestable people act towards them.

I've noticed how members leave and then return to this forum in batches... Why? Can't people do anything these days without being influenced by others?

I only came back because I actually have a little bit of time on my hands (which has been very rare for me lately).

Yeah, it just annoyed me how people were literally CRYING over a LION. Newsflash: animals are poached all the time. Nobody cried when the last golden frog died or the last passenger pigeon. Or even tears of joy at rumors of an Ivory-billed Woodpecker sighting. Or the white rhinocerouses which have been poached over the years (and some subspecies are extinct in the wild). Lions, meanwhile, DON'T get killed as often. They have no ivory. The guy was just trying to mimic Victorian-era colonial hunters (who did not know the meaning of the word conservation). And you know who signed the Endangered Species Act? Nixon. Even an "evil president" did something more meaningful than demanded the death of someone who shot a random lion nobody knew prior to his death. It's sad, but people need to get over it and get serious. Nobody cares about aborted babies being harvested for organs, even though if circumstances had been different some of THEM would have been aborted, but they DO care about a lion? I mean, I liked animals as a kid, but then...I grew up and realized that people weren't too bad, either.

I thought about writing a satirical short story where a person is watching the news and hears a "police report" from "coroner Elephant" and "inspector Rhinoceros" gathers clues and eventually arrests the dentist for the murder of Cecil the Lion. Anchorman Giraffe gives you 24-hour coverage of the investigation! :p Does anyone think that would be interesting or just stupid?

Man, why do I have to work tomorrow and help a friend move? :|

I want to play this game some more....too bad the trailer looks better than the game is so far.... but...once I get the hang of this I might have found a game that interests me enough to not have a game console collecting dust as they usually do.

Vroom Vroom. Gonna have to find people to roll with..... video gamers don't like me much. :sorry:
