I choose to reject all after physical death scenarios. It's now that I'm alive. It's now that God is my reality in life. It's now that I'm going through the awakening process. It's now that I can serve and help those in need. It's now that I can laugh with my grandchildren. It's now that I can cry because of the pillaging of the earth. I choose to not live for life after death but to live for life now. I see that as a very wise way to live.

.
There's just one problem...you have it backwards. We are to seek first the kingdom, and then, all that will be added unto us. It is one thing to make the best of the earthly life we have been given, but it is not good to glory in it. Revelation 12:11

What of all the religionists - Christians - that accept modern cosmology and evolutionary theory? Do their their rules and facts get kicked to the side as well?
Does appeasement really work? Can a man have two masters?

They are as much a product of their environment as any, and were not born of the spirit of God. But it is not wrong to ask questions, to seek and examine the mysteries of life. But a man hears what he wants to hear, sees what he wants to see, after his kind.

The evidence says "Everyone dies."
Indeed.
The two camps simply have different outlooks: Christians have it on good authority
Allegedly.
that if you choose that path,
As if one can choose reality.
life doesn't end at death. Atheists what, accept death on the word of others who died before them?
I knew an atheist that believed in an afterlife, for people and all the critters around us. But then, he was also working his way from extensive drug habit.
You LIKE the idea of just laying down and dying?
Of course not. Why would I not want for there to be more to human existence that this brief biological stint?
Where's your fighting spirit of adventure?
It's at the cleaners with my Easter Bunny suit.

It looks like it would come at the cost of my intellectual integrity.
Intellect has no integrity.

Wisdom, on the other hand does...and choosing even the possibility of life over certain death...is just for the fools and the wise.

"Occasionally". lol.

And there you go again with your shock value insults. Yawn. You're becoming exceedingly predicable. That and evasion seem to permeate your posts.

You misrepresent what I said. I never said you had to agree or leave.

You've been insisting that I should leave my country simply because I don't agree with mainstream cosmology beliefs. What's up with that behavior?

Your opinion of their expertise is irrelevant to my point.

I suppose that's fair since your opinions about God and cosmology are irrelevant to me as well. :)

While there are evangelical Christians such as Geneticist Francis Collins, director of the Human Genome Project, that accept evolutionary theory, I do not see why you make this a religious matter.

My exchanges with Scott have not involved science so far.

Perhaps that's due to the fact that you've steadfastly refused to talk about science so far. :)

Your emotional need for falsification wasn't 'scientific' to start with, nor was your personal need for empirical cause/effect evidence since no cosmology theory actually works that way.

Wow. I didn't think that you and I would agree on anything. Evidently I was wrong. :)

Intellect has no integrity.
From your perspective, perhaps.

“Reason is a harlot, the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but more frequently than not struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God.” ― Martin Luther
Wisdom, on the other hand does...and choosing even the possibility of life
Where have you established this as a possibility?

It's not an insult if it is accurate.

Nice red herring you have there. Is that for dinner?

I find it productive to use the vernacular for the universe that I am in, thanks. Where are you from?
How about if you are lost?

"Maybe you would like to quit doing the same thing expecting a different result."

I have been here for years, and have been getting the same result, but the elaborate rationales presented by each religionist for why their particular deity is indistinguishable from nothing usually takes enough twists and turns to make it interesting.
My above quote is one definition of insanity. Your approach seems to line up with it. Just sayin'

Do you send letters to Santa?
Make believe is a funny thing. We innocently tell our innocent children stories to soften and explain something real. God does the same, but in this case...you don't even know you are in the story. I guess that proves he has a sense of humor. :) :) :)

Unless of course, one find the Presence of God in life. I do not believe that the search for other wordly rewards over rides the reality of God in this world.
