I knew an atheist that believed in an afterlife, for people and all the critters around us. But then, he was also working his way from extensive drug habit.

While there are evangelical Christians such as Geneticist Francis Collins, director of the Human Genome Project, that accept evolutionary theory, I do not see why you make this a religious matter.

I have been here for years, and have been getting the same result, but the elaborate rationales presented by each religionist for why their particular deity is indistinguishable from nothing usually takes enough twists and turns to make it interesting.

Make believe is a funny thing. We innocently tell our innocent children stories to soften and explain something real. God does the same, but in this case...you don't even know you are in the story. I guess that proves he has a sense of humor.

Unless of course, one find the Presence of God in life. I do not believe that the search for other wordly rewards over rides the reality of God in this world.
