Quake to hit in Ca?

I live in Ca and I am not one bit scared. Earthquakes can not be predicted but of course man in his hubris believes he can.

I'd be more worried about the New Madrid fault, since that is long overdue for an earthquake and that will hit regions that aren't as prepared for an earthquake than the West Coast is.

I am pretty confident it is, I had classes on this with the daughter of the man who was a pioneer in plate tectonics. As classicalhero said the new madrid fault will go before anything else. They been predicting doomsday for us since I was a wee lad.

We should be more worried about being hit by an asteroid.

Of course there is going to be a big earthquake in California. In an average lifetime of a human one will see number of pretty big ones and probably a really big one. That is nature of living along the San Andreas Fault. (and the minor corollary faults). We will have Tornadoes and Blizzards in the Midwest also. It will flood seriously in Bangladesh in the next two years.

We should be more worried about cancer and heart disease and their treatment and risk factors.

I would rather be afraid of an incoming super eruption followed by a black hole consumption. That said, I would rather die by old age than to witness those horrors.
