Romans 5:6-8 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

I don't know but I have been thinking about this lately. Like does god even care for me? It just that what am I to god? I have nothing to offer him and he doesn't even need me. Not only that but I haven't been saved.

You do good to realize you can do nothing for God.

God did not create you to get something from you, but so He can shower you with unbelievable huge gifts (that is what true Love does). Nothing would make Him happier than serving you.

God wants to make you the way He is (WOW!!! Now there is a gift for you)!

The problem is we want to be like some “god” in a book or video game, be praised, be controlling, have all our selfish desires fulfilled, and have everyone else worship us. That is not being like God and/or Jesus.

God is not “programmed” to be unselfish, but choose to be unselfish (Loving). Do we choose to just want to be unselfish?

God cannot control our wants like some robot is programmed, since they would not really be our wants.

You have the free will ability to humbly accept or reject God’s help/charity/gifts/mercy/grace/forgiveness.

God doesn't need to consider us, you are right. Even more, for God to love us despite doing everything in opposition to Him puts us even more in His mercy and care.

When you see an injured animal, are you moved by pity, mercy or a sense of care? To what purpose do we love something or someone to willingly sacrifice our lives for them, or to endure suffering to ease or prevent theirs? God's love is a mystery, just as we can be moved to goodness.

You may think yourself unworthy of being loved, as we all are. But what if the love we feel is but the faintest glimpse of the purest kind.

It is part of the covenant He made with us by giving us His son, Jesus. He always loves us because He made us. In the beginning, if man obeyed Him to the best of his ability (or made amends when he did not), then God told man He would take care of him for as long as man kept his part of the covenant.

When Jesus came, the old covenant took a backseat to the new covenant. Covenant means sacred agreement. Whether we realize it or not, God has offered us a contract, which He is invested in. When we sign that contract by agreeing that Jesus is Lord and Savior, and that we believe in Him, God cares for us through His literal action of caring for our daily needs.

He is just doing what He said He would do. He birthed us, so He is responsible for us. And unlike many fathers on earth, He is going to see us through to the end. He is a kind Father who loves us, yet demands that we love Him through His Son, for our own well-being, others' well-being, and the Kingdom to come's well-being.

Yes, God loves you. He can't help himself, and he wouldn't, even if he could. He looks at you and feels nothing but love.

He would not love you more if you were saved because he already loves you as much as it is possible for him to do. :)

The question is, what do you mean by god. Do you have a certain idea of what god is? Where does it come from? Does it correspond with the reality you observe, or is it somebody's pure invention?

I don't think those are appropriate questions at this particular time, of this particular person.

If someone is drowning you don't ask them to define water, you help them not to drown.

Metaphysics can come later.

I don't need definitions, just trying to truly understand another human being.

When we see Jesus in the Scriptures, feeding the hungry, healing the lame, giving sight to the blind, dying for our sins, rising from the dead...there we see God in the flesh.

To the OP, God has shown His greatest love to you at Calvary's Cross. He has given you many promises and sealed them with His Blood.

Yes. God cares for you. Very much. Enough to humiliate Himself and take on lowly human form and die on a cross for you. He created you and sustains your existence at every moment - even now when you are living separate from Him.

What are you to God? You are one of His creatures, made in His image. He created you to know and glorify Him.

He doesn't need you. At all. He's perfect, which means He needs nothing. But there is something you can offer Him: yourself. In fact, this is the way He made you to live. You were created to know, and love, and serve your Creator.

You haven't been saved? Well, what are you waiting for?

Revelation 3:20
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Selah.

Look at it this way...think of God as a parent, when you have a child, that child cannot do anything for itself, you have to spend pretty much every waking moment caring for it, if you think in terms of value what is this child contributing to make it have worth in this relationship...by the cold light of day nothing...the parent is doing all the work here, yet it is the most precious thing in the world to that parent and matters more to them than all the money in the universe, so much so they would willing give up their life if it meant the child lived. What value do we have to a being so powerful He created life from nothing and an entire living world, a being we cannot possibly comprehend the mind of, why would God love us, as you say He doesn't need us? And yet He does, no matter what. God values you more than anything else in the entire universe, no matter what you think of yourself. He loves us so much he sent a part of Himself to live and die among us.

That's the simplist way I can put it, knowing that changed me.

God bless
