I think my sense of smell has decrease lately due to chronic rhinitis. There was a time that I could be bothered by the smell of my own hair if my shampoo had a strong perfume. I also don't like sweet smelling perfumes. The reduced sense of smell makes my job easier to deal with since even "smell" of body fluids is part of our assessment skills as a nurse....and I often find my hands and face in stuff like infections that have very strong unpleasant smells...(nurses often put on mask with a bit of mint toothpaste wiped inside to mask the odors). I do like the smell of the ocean (which is a mix of good smells and bad smells) and carnations.

What is your favorite smell?

Night blooming jasmine

What is your least favorite smell?
Sulfur

Do you like being able to smell?
Yes!

Would you give up the sense if you could?
Never

Do you constantly smell things? Doesn't that get annoying and feel violating? Lol.
No. I smell the clothes in my gym bag, to see if I can wear them one more time or I need to switch them out. That's the grossest thing I do, with smelling.

Can you smell skin? Grass? The sun? Pavement? Plastic?
I can smell stink on skin, the grass, the pavement when it's hot.
I don't think I can smell the sun. It would be nice to. Plastic sometimes has a smell.

Kind of surprising to hear that smell is important to people. Personally the idea of smelling seems scary and unsettling to me. If I had the option to fix my nose, I am not sure what I would do, lol.

What is your favorite smell? His cologne, or whatever is a good scent memory.

What is your least favorite smell? Burning landfill.

Do you like being able to smell? Sure, it's a great way to remember things.

Would you give up the sense if you could? No.

Do you constantly smell things? Doesn't that get annoying and feel violating? Lol. Not really. I'm not really smelling anything right now. I do get annoyed when the landfill is burning and the wind is so strong I can smell it at home.

Can you smell skin? Grass? The sun? Pavement? Plastic?
Skin - not really. Maybe the interaction of scents with people's skin.
Grass - yes.
Sun - no, not that I can recall.
Pavement - not usually, unless one lies on the pavement and that's not recommended.
Plastic - some plastics yes, some no. You can definitely smell plastic when it's burning.

What is your favorite smell? Pine, cinnamon, vanilla, gasoline, plastic, old paper

What is your least favorite smell? Fresh cut grass

Do you like being able to smell? I suppose, but it is not a huge deal to me

Would you give up the sense if you could? Possibly, if I had to do so

Do you constantly smell things? Doesn't that get annoying and feel violating? Lol. My sense of smell is rather weak so I do not detect smells often unless they are strong

Can you smell skin? Grass? The sun? Pavement? Plastic? Yes to all of these (except for the Sun)
