• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello, could I ask for prayers for myself?
I'm currently a 19 year old female. I always had weak hearing in my left ear, but in 2011, after visiting Mount Kinabalu, I had sudden hearing loss in both ears and it's been degenerating since then. After I returned to Singapore from mount Kinabalu, 3 days later I went to Our Lady of Health Vailankani's shrine in India with my hearing loss still there to pray. I returned to Singapore soon after and the hearing specialists speculates that my hearing hair cells are degenerating, just like the elderly, only more advanced.

As I am only 19 and still schooling, I don't really feel the effects of being hard of hearing, other than a few tauntings at school and lectures being hard to hear.. But this is also the age I'm beginning to take interest in relationships, and being hard of hearing makes me feel really inferior, and not worth of the other party. I feel flawed, and I feel left out as communicating is hard even with hearing aids.

Is there any way I could ask God for a miracle? Does anyone have any prayers to recommend? I really really want my hearing back again, or at least be accepted by people I really want to connect with.

Please pray for me.
Thanks and God bless! :)

Lots of people receive healing for the hearing. Sometimes people just need to get the wax cleaned out of their ear. Also we need to pray for God to open our spiritual ears so we can hear when He is instructing us in the way to live our life.
