As I read that very book of Joel chapter 2, God revealed to me in an unusual way, that outrageous prosperity, is one of the signs of the end time- before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

From that scripture, it can be seen that amidst the outpouring of the Spirit of God, is also the outpouring of abundant material wealth: as can be seen from verses 23-26 of that Joel Chapter 2. It says…

“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
”

And to enjoy this bountifulness of God’s supply, of course you have to play your part. By giving, by paying all your tithes and offering regularly. And ultimately, serving the Lord committedly and whole-heartedly…

Failure to do all these, you may never part-take of these end time blessings that God have destined for his Church. Why so? Because God operates on covenant terms.

In Exodus 23:25, the word of God says, you shall serve, and he will bless. So if you do not play your own part by serving, God will not be committed to playing his part as well. But on the other hand, after playing your part initially, and God blesses you…

How Then Does God Want Us to Spend The Blessings?

Does God want us to spend our financial or material blessings only on our selfish desires? Is it for self-aggrandizement? Is it only for our family members? Is it for accumulation and material extravagance? The answer to all of that is, no. And these are the areas so many Christian believers are missing it.

The blessings God gives you, is a responsibility to you. You’re to spend it according to his will. And finally, on the last day, you will give account of it. The ignorance of this very fact have become the bane of so many believers today. And if they are not careful, many of them are not able to sustain the blessings; and worse still, it may even land many of them in Hell.

God blesses us to abound unto every good work. According to 2 Corinthians 9: 8-9, which says;
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth forever.”

So God’s end time prosperity agenda is not for accumulation or self-aggrandizement. But rather, for us to abound unto every good works. Good works like: Investing into Evangelism, Church building and expansion; Giving to the less privileged- both in Church and outside the Church. Giving to charity.

In short, the good works are innumerable. Nevertheless, we must also give to ourselves and families, but we should give more outside, than on ourselves…

Why These Frivolities?

What’s the point as a believer, in having fleets of cars, when there are allots of people to be reached out to. One car is enough; or may be two, in case you have a large family. If you want a new brand, or just want a change, sell the one you have, and add money to it and get the new brand.
The remaining abundance you have, use it for the good works the scriptures talk about. So that your treasures can be in heaven as Jesus said. And your eyes also can be focused on heaven; and how you can make it there on the last day…

Because our Lord Jesus says in the book of Matthew 6: 19-21; “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through or steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Now for you to part-take in this end-time divine wealth, you must first of all, give your heart to the Lord Jesus. Because according the scripture in 2 Corinthians 8:5, the Macedonian Church which the Apostle Paul is using for our example, first gave their selves to the Lord. So if you want to be a part-taker of this end-time humongous, prosperity of the Church…

You Must Be Born Again

If you want to accept The Lord Jesus as your Lord and personal savior or to rededicate yourself to God, place your right hand on your chest and say out this prayer…

Lord Jesus, today, I repent of my sins. I accept you into my heart as my Lord and personal savior. Wash me with your precious blood, you shared for me on the cross of Calvary. And write my name in the Lamb’s book of life. Thank you father for saving me in Jesus Name. Amen!

If you said that prayer, I pray for you right now from my heart, that you receive the power of God to get wealth in the Jesus Name! I pray also that you receive the grace to abound unto every good works with your wealth in Jesus Name! Your wealth will not lead you to hell, but rather to heaven in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!

Deuteronomy 8:18 seems to give the believer justification to acquiring as much wealth as the Lord can trust him to use to establish His covenant.

18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

The modern-day meaning would be the spreading of the gospel. There are significant costs associated with evangelism; only the end times remain and it is critical that all that can be done to spread the gospel is done.

Does God want us to spend our financial or material blessings only on our selfish desires? Is it for self-aggrandizement? Is it only for our family members? Remain Blessed!
"Blessed to be a blessing" is the WOF phrase for remembering how the gift of prosperity is to be used.

The exact details on how to distribute this wealth ought to be given directly by the Holy Spirit to the wealthy person who searches scripture for God's instructions to him. The wealthy WOF I know have this kind of lifestyle.

The prosperity that is evidence of the out pouring of the holy spirit is the fruit of the spirit not material things, I can be the richest person on this earth I can own 1000 mansions and have so much that I could never spend it all even in my entire lifetime yet compared to all the secrets wonders and beauty of God's heart al this is trash. I don't need or want all of that stuff, If I am to be rich at all I will be rich in love and all of who God is if I am to be blessed in any way if I am given all these riches of materiel things then I will give to those who don't have and give generously.

You made several very good points which apply to a person who desires only spiritual blessings.

DISTRIBUTING WEALTH
You gave an excellent partial description of what "blessed to be a blessing" means: "I will give to those who don't have and give generously."

Scripture makes it clear God gives me wealth to meet my own needs and those of others:

"[God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will ALSO provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in ACTIVE goodness, kindness, and charity]." - 2 Corinthians 9:10

Another thing rich WOF do is fund the preaching of the GOSPEL, missions and missionaries, disaster relief, food missions, medical missions, orphanages, 3rd world outreach including well drilling, water purifiers, food prep and preservation, hygiene missions, business loans and assistance, farming and animal husbandry, prison outreach, Indigenous outreach, hospital outreach, addictions outreach, trauma outreach, single parent family outreach, campus outreach, military outreach, street missions, etc. IOW, those who have spiritual, physical, social, medical, and financial needs.

As you can see, financial prosperity is ALWAYS needed to fund extremely worthy works of God locally and globally. Poor Christians can find many things to do for God, but wealthy Christians can reach out in an almost unlimited way, which is why God wants me to prosper spirit, soul, and body.

COMPLETE GOOD NEWS STORY

The good news is I don't have to give up ANYTHING the Lord Jesus Christ paid the full BLOOD SACRIFICE price for. Here's what scripture says about the whole man prospering in every way for those who are interested in everything Jesus paid for:

"
My dear friend [Beloved], I pray that you are ·doing well [prospering] in ·EVERY WAY [all respects] AND that your health is good, JUST AS your soul is doing fine [it is well with your soul; your soul is prospering]." - 3 John 1:2

3 PART BEING HAS 3 PART NEEDS
I'm a 3 part being, God provides for all 3 parts with HIS glorious richness:

"Now may God himself, the God of peace, ·make you holy in every way [sanctify you completely/through and through]. May your whole self—spirit, soul, and body—be kept ·faultless [blameless] when our Lord Jesus Christ comes." - 1 Thessalonians 5:23

"
My God will ·meet [supply; fulfill] ALL of your needs ·from [according to] his ·wonderful riches [glorious riches; or riches in heaven/glory] in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19

IMO, one of the dangers for those who are still young/weak in their faith is that they confuse poverty and self-sacrifice.

Just because God blesses me abundantly doesn't mean that I have to be greedy/materialistic. In fact, being such is actually sinful.

I can accept God's blessing and constantly be a conduit for building the Kingdom... directing the finances (and other blessings) to those in need. I might not drive a new BMW, but why do I need to? In fact, living in SE Asia for a number of years, I haven't even owned a car for some time... just don't need it. I do live a wonderful life, but I've learned that it's not "things" that make it wonderful.

I can't speak for everyone, but it took me a while (longer than I care to admit) quit being immature and wanting God to bless ME for ME... because I want it!! (like a 3 year old)... and understand that as long as I have basics I need (and my view of basics has become more and more basic), then the rest is for me to direct to others, if I am to be a good steward and not a spoiled child.

What is too much, is any unnecessary possession. Anything that draws your attention away from looking up to Jesus daily, in faith. That's what in my own opinion is too much

+1

Great post! Unfortunately, many today are way to worried about their bank account as we march on in the Laodicean Church age

"I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings." Luke 16:9

Worldly wealth is really unstable so Jesus commands people to exchange it for more lasting possessions before it's taken away.

Any thing you put before God becomes your idol, wealth is one thing but there are others.

Stubbornness is pride gone to seed it is Idolatry.

Vanity the obsession over your appearance can be a idol.

Your hobbies can become your hindrance in the Kingdom.

As money goes hold it with a soft grip,be able to release it,sometimes it would seem that it is easier to turn loose of money than the other vices that hinder our race.

I think a lot of Word of Faith televangelists have gone way overboard with prosperity, to the point of doing more harm than good. Many Christians make the same mistake with prosperity that they make with the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The purpose of both is to minister to others, not to receive a blessing for yourself. Of course there will be a blessing in both, but to focus on that instead of advancing the Kingdom for the glory of God is wrong. It is just as wrong to go to the extreme of living in mansions and flying $20 million planes as it is to take a vow of poverty.

Very good points. Furthermore, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is done only by Jesus to those who undergo water baptism and remain obedient to Him and will be witness to Him for His glorification.

Hi Simon... that is not limited to Word of Faith. I know of more than a few of these "prosperity" televangelists that are (non-Wof)... that are far, far worse than any WoF teachers that I am familiar with...

I am glad you added the (focus on that)... for that is about their motive. The Lord knows where their true focus is, and... IF, they ARE (totally) focusing on advancing the Kingdom, using (Creflo Dollar's, 65 mil jet as an example)... why not?

I do know this... his (Creflo's) teaching on (prosperity), or otherwise... has really shaped up in my opinion. If you dare to listen to him, you will notice a lot of Andrew Wommack teaching is coming through him. Wommack is one of my favorites.

But, I will say this also... If any of these "teachers" (bar none) are doing "these things" for the wrong motive of their... (own pleasures), without God... they will open themselves up as a target for Satan to devour.target[1].gif

I read through this thread and can not understand it at all.
First you claim to be teaching word of faith. ( shh let me finish - i am not angry or attacking )
All any one has talked about is MONEY and Material things. If that is all you see in this then your are very incompleat.

Biblical prosperity is everything about us.
Peal an orange - you see all those different sections - it is like this in Biblical prosperity. You have Prospering in relationships - health - jobs - marriages - understanding and finances and so forth. You take one slice of that orange away and now you dont have a compleat foundation of Biblical Prosperity.

God does not bless you big in one area and ignore all the others. God will build you up fully in all area's.
As God Builds you He is creating in you a new understanding or revelation of His ways. You won't get financial wealth if you are NOT a giver or planter. It simply wont happen with God.

Those who have Big jets had little airplanes but over time God increased what they had to fulfill what God required of them. Don't ever judge some one that God has blessed by what they have. If God is thier source - then they have what God wanted them to have.

Forgive me please but some of the things I read in this thread I would expect to read in one of those so called Christian forums who claim word of faith is of the devil and such.
Well that is my 2 cents any way, again please do not think I am mad or attacking or anything other them sitting here in peace and joy writing in a froum that I believe could just be the forum I have been looking for.

God Bless

The abundance of life Jesus taught has nothing to do with worldly wealth.

Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions."

John 10:10 "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

2 Corinthians 8:9

"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

Jesus lived a life of poverty of purpose. Aren't we supposed to follow him?

Viren Hello,
Your use of these scriptures are not 100 percent correct.
Jesus became poor has nothingto do with wealth as in finances and other things.
Abundent life or life in abundence is just that. Is is every part of our lives.

You need to take the time to understand the scriptures you use before you try and make them fit where they dont.
EXample.....you quoted.....
Luke 12:15 Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions."

Now look at what it really says............
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Now then -what happeened to the main pourpose of this scripture in your quote ? Where is COVETOUSNESS ?

Thank you for replying and how about lets get serious here with this.
God Bless

I read through this thread and can not understand it at all.
First you claim to be teaching word of faith. ( shh let me finish - i am not angry or attacking )
All any one has talked about is MONEY and Material things. If that is all you see in this then your are very incompleat.

Biblical prosperity is everything about us.
Peal an orange - you see all those different sections - it is like this in Biblical prosperity. You have Prospering in relationships - health - jobs - marriages - understanding and finances and so forth. You take one slice of that orange away and now you dont have a compleat foundation of Biblical Prosperity.

God Bless

Wow Jim. I'm a little confused. I read your post and then went back to the beginning of this thread. I wish I had the time to share the many, many quotes from "almost" everyone's response on "being prosperous" to help others in need. Your painting a very broad picture from what you have quoted about this thread. I hope someone can find the time to go through every post and bring up the many quotes for ALL to see. I bolded just one of your quotes for now that said "All any one has talked about is MONEY and Material things." All anyone?

To quote a second one here... "Biblical prosperity is everything about us." I don't know if you know this or not but, your quote is absolutely correct. It's all about us having enough left over to share with the needy for whatever they may need. That's what we on this Word-of-faith forum are all about. If a minister needs a bigger jet, that's between them and God. We get accused of teaching a prosperity gospel for our own enjoyment. That is so far from the truth Jim. In my opinion... there is no such thing as a "prosperity gospel." Most of this stuff and the "names" mostly comes from our critics.

I pray you get to know us for who we really are. BTW... Not all who have posted here on this thread are Word-of-faith. If this is the perfect forum you are looking for... well, it's not here as long as I am around... One of Best.gif

Be Blessed to be a BLESSING...
