A chilled red is very nice. I want to get one of those wine fridges that keeps it 'chilled'. Left in the fridge too long and chilled red wine becomes cold red wine which i don't enjoy! :)

We don't seem to have that problem...

(Joking.)

My wife always allows it to "breath." I thought that was just snobbery until I tried it, it does improve the taste, just give it a few minutes to warm up...

We have been drinking this one for a few years now:

Posted this on my site the other day:

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess…” Eph. 5.18

Gill explains:

The sin of drunkenness here exhorted from, is a custom, or habit, of voluntary excessive drinking of any strong liquor, whereby the mind is disturbed, and deprived of the use of reason

Drinking Alcohol is not Prohibited:

drinking wine for necessary use (is not) prohibited, nor for honest delight and lawful pleasure; but excessive drinking of it, and this voluntary, and with design, and on purpose; otherwise persons may be overtaken and intoxicated…and it is a custom, or habit of excessive drinking, for not a single act, but a series of actions, a course of living in this sin, denominates a man a drunkard;

Gill on excess, the result thereof and how the church should respond:

the sin is very sinful; it is one of the works of the flesh; it is an abuse of the creature; it is opposed to walking honestly; for it persons are to be excluded from the communion of the church; and, without the grace of true repentance, shall not inherit the kingdom of heaven: many things might be said to dissuade from it; it hurts the mind, memory, and judgment; deprives of reason, and sets a man below a beast; it brings diseases on the body, and wastes the estate; it unfits for business and duty; it opens a door for every sin, and exposes to shame and danger; and therefore should be carefully avoided, and especially by professors of religion

Due to the Canadian high taxation rate on tobacco products I wasn’t sure how much I could order from the U.S. without getting tagged with a large amount of duty. The rest of the guys I ordered tobacco as well so I kept my order to the following:

"Trout Stream is a mixture of Golden Cavendish mixed with a sweet Black Cavendish with an rich butterscotch aroma and a smooth flavor. Stays lit easily and is mild enough for any time of day. It’s perfect for tying flies or stepping out of your tent on a cool misty morning."

" Its aroma is delicate, rich, and very addictive - it whispers in the night to be sniffed and I carry it around all day. When I smoke this tobacco, I am under the impression that I know what a quality and delicious tobacco taste like."

"The flavor is a butternut/caramel/??im not sure, but it sure is good!. Wonderful room note. I have been smoking this on my porch, and when I go inside and come back out, the smell lingers and it is great. My wife loves it too."

"The Country Gentleman Corn Cob Pipe is the most popular design in our series of larger, filtered pipes. It has a large, barrel-shaped bowl with dark stain added to the coating, giving this pipe a unique and distinctive appearance. The pipe has a genuine, hardwood insert in the bottom of the bowl."

Good points. Moderation is always key. I don't like NOT having a drink at night but I also don't like having too much to drink. It's a beautiful, flowing balance.

What about a buzz?

I don't believe it is sinful UNLESS you see to get buzzed all the time. Kinda like eating chocolate. I enjoy a chocolate bar if I had acouple a day it wouldn't be a good thing...I do enjoy a good sugar high. lol

Excellent points JM. Moderation is the key. Anything done to excess is destructive. Gluttony is just as destructive to the body.

I don't like a buzz much if I am just sipping a whiskey at home after work. If I am at a social event a buzz is cool though. I like to be in control of my faculties at night. A buzz sometimes is the line where I can see my control of my awareness begin to slip away. And I don't mean losing awareness like if I was hammered, but you know the feeling where you are aware of who you are and how you feel and then you are kinda numb? I don't like being numb. When I was a Christian I called it 'blocking the spirit' or becoming deaf to the spirit. Now I see it as losing awareness of my reality.

But no I don't see an issue with a buzz unless it becomes a habit. I probably get a buzz on once a week. The rest is just chillin. Have probably only been really drunk once in the last year. I can't do hangovers anymore so drunkiness is very unattractive besides the obvious bad parts to getting drunk.
