So today is my birthday and I asked for dinner from a restaurant. My mom and dad didn't want any so my dad bought some for me. When he came home I went downstairs to eat and saw my mom in my food. When she saw me she ran away and I said "Hey. What the eff are you doing?" She got mad and try to make me apologize for swearing and I told her "eff" isn't a swear word. She stormed off and is really mad at me.

Now I never swear and rarely use these substitute words like "eff". I know I was wrong so I went and apologized for overreacting and brought her some food. She didn't even look at me and I left. My dad talked to her later and apparently she is madder than ever and is "done with me". She is acting like I just forsake Jesus himself right then and there.

I guess I'm the type of person who easily forgives and doesn't sweat small stuff so I never would think too much of what I did if done to me. My mom is one of the very stubborn type of people who will never admit their faults and gets mad at little things. We have our arguments but I've maybe seen her this mad except maybe twice.

I'm not sure what to do since my dad said even he doesn't know how I can fix it. Me as a person would just accept an apology and move on. Any help?

Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

Typical:

person 1: do you want [variable]
person 2: I do not want the [variable]
person 1: are you sure?
person 2: yes
*a little while later*
person 2: *takes person 1's [variable]*
person 1: but you said you didn't want any of the [variable]
person 2: don't be so touchy, geeze.

It's annoying. These people, I don't know what to tell you. If you get worked up, you're out of control, if you acted the same way they did, you would be scolded. I don't know what to say other than... these cards. But at least you seem like the reasonable sort in a situation that can't be helped.

If you are an adult, move out of your parents' home.

as a mom, we are most sensitive to the insensitivities of our children. We are rarely appreciated and are easily hurt (even if we made a mistake first). Continue to treat her with respect, honor and love and she will forgive you. Love covers a multitude of sins and time heals all wounds.

Eh, people get on each others nerves. You snapped for a second, happens to everyone, but she's still holding a fit over it when she shouldn't be. She'll cool off. It's the joys of being associated with people.
