Hello everyone, first time poster here...

I am not sure what I'm doing here to be honest...
I was raised Catholic my entire life. I went to Catholic school all the way through Grade School and High School. By the time I was 18 (I'm now 22) I became an atheist.
I ask for a prayer request because...what can it hurt? I haven't practiced faith in five years, but it was once a huge part of my life.

I ask for prayers for my family and I. I am the oldest in a family of 8. Last year, on Father's day, my father packed up his things and left my mother. Leaving my mother to care for us. A couple of my siblings have severe mental disorders, and one has a 6 month old baby that now lives with us. My mom had never worked a day in her life, and now she is caring for people in hospice. She is a very devout Catholic women. I have watched my mother struggle day to day for a year. Time have been tough to say the least. My mom is about to file for bankruptcy again, the water bill is due soon, and our phone is shut off. I have been helping my mother all I can, but I have two children myself and pay child support so money is an issue for me as well, but I help with the bills here as well.

I want to help my family more. My mother is super christian, so I figured asking for a prayer intention here couldn't hurt. I appreciate everyone who reads this for taking time out of their day to read this.

Your good vibrations, and prayers are appreciated.

Regards,

Aaron

At my lowest point is when Gods voice was most easily heard. I was broken and didnt know what to do. I was trying to do right, I was trying to be productive.. "I" finally realized and after being brought to my attention rather harshly, I was really going it alone and just reporting to God. Once i gave him control and realized I cant do it alone a huge weight and pain was lifted. Everything doesnt get perfect all at once, but from the bottom lookin up it all looked real good. And it gets better ;) keep your head up your in my prayers brother.

Father,

I ask that you comfort this poster right now and I thank you that he came to this site. Father, I am asking that you will make yourself real to him, and show him that you are tenderhearted and compassionate. Erase the negative associations he has had about your character during his growing up years. I ask that you fill the home with peace and help those with mental disabilities to get the proper care they need. Please draw near to the mother who is now caring for the family.

Father, fill this family with peace and I pray that you will begin to whisper your kindness into this poster's heart and give him practical ideas on how he can help his family.

In Jesus name
Amen

Thanks for letting me pray for you. I hope you have a very blessed and peaceful evening.

I also experienced something like that, my mother was sick, and almost everyone in the family was jobless (my father, aunt, and myself). We only lived by my mom's pension and my sister's meager salary. There were bills to pay, food, checkups, and meds. It was tough...

You did right by asking for prayers because that's how we all survived it. A few months after the ordeal, my sister got a job with bigger salary, my mother was healthy again (turned out she just needed a change in medication), and I got a job as a teacher. It was still hard but the situation was improving; and then before we know it, that period was over.

Your problems will be over too, just make the most of what's available. God is the best provider.

I'll pray for you and your family :)

In my prayers , God bless you all . I m a christian and I think the hardest thing is going through tough times in life and asking God why ? But I do believe He is up there , all logic suggests there is a God and if there is , then Jesus is the only being who shows the attributes of god . Trust him brother , praying for u

I was raised Catholic and went to catechism and the whole sha-bang and in my late teens had no clue who Jesus was and thought my mom was a Jesus Freak. I was introduced to Cocaine back in the 80's as a stimulant to conduct many aerobic classes and within a year I was hooked. Aaron, it took me yelling at the God of my mother and saying if He was real to make himself known to me because I didn't want to quit but I wasn't ready to move out either. I was 20 years old. I was on my knees and after sobbing and breaking down after this outburst, I heard my voice in my head say, "Get up. Look in the mirror" and I saw a confused, shamed, and very oily face (from all the junk food I ate to help me come down from my high) turn into a pure and clean and pretty girl and then I heard my voice in my head say, "it is done." I then felt a love and peace overcome me like I have never felt before and I knew He had visited me in that bathroom the minute I called out to Him. I knew He had healed my drug addiction there on the spot and forgave me for all the sins I committed. I then went to a non denominational church wanting to get to know this Jesus, whom I called on and who came to my aid.

For me, the Catholic Church didn't have the bible open enough. It wasn't until I read the bible and learned about God from the old testament and promised Messiah to the new testament confirming all the prophecies about him; over 300 prophecies were fulfilled! Everything that happened to me happened to so many, thousands of years ago. It is the same now as then. He is the healer. He is our wonderful Counselor. What is missing in this culture is not earnestly seeking Him, and relying on our own mortal "intelligence".

Aaron, if Jesus wasn't the real deal, they would have found his dead body and showed it to everyone who thought he ascended to heaven. Then there are over 500 witnesses who saw him when he was resurrected.

He will make Himself known to you if you truly surrender all disbelief and humbly kneel and ask Him to come into your life, your soul. He will direct your path. He will show you signs that He hears you. I ask you to get into the book of John and read it while praying to Him to reveal the truth to you. Even in the bible, a man approached Jesus and asked Him to heal his son and said, "Lord, I believe, please forgive my unbelief!" Even he knew that although he heard about Jesus' miracles, etc, he still had unbelief. Pray to Jesus to heal you of your wall of unbelief! Do some homework and buy " A Case for Christ" by Stroble, I believe. It is an excellent resource for the atheist. They also have a dvd with many historians evidence.

I pray in the pain you are feeling for your family, that you ask Jesus to give you His peace about it, that nothing that can happen on this planet that will take away the eternal joy that is awaiting if you call on the name of the Lord.

I pray for you and your family. This world has evil in it as the bible predicted. My parents died within a year of each other when I was 25. I was able to rejoice even then, for my soul is saved. Had I not been, I would have died of a drug overdose after there passing. Thank God He saved me before their deaths.

Please use your circumstances to get you to fully surrender, all your anger, fears, doubts, judgments..lay it all down at His feet and boy, your Mom would be thrilled to see her son come to Jesus. That will trump any material or emotional distress you see her go through here.

Brother, I'm so sorry you and your loved ones are going through hard times. I'll ask God to bless you. My mom is a devout Christian and raised me that way as well. When I had hard times in my life she would tell me "this to shall pass" and that I should have a conversation with God about my life he heard me and he will hear you.

Father I pray blessings on this request and that you would make yourself real to this gentleman in Jesus name I pray.

Father I also pray in the name of Jesus for the proper spiritual light and energies to burn brightly in the hearts of all who reads this post and that they may carry these energies to the church of their choice and out in the world to be a blessing to humanity!
