I saw it yesterday and it is plain and simple awesome. The cinema did air it at two halls at same time and both were booked out. I never saw something like that before. The audeince was young and even elderly people.

Jurassic Park holds a special place in germany. When it came out in 1993 it was a unique experience and basicly the first real blockbuster that most east germans ever saw. For the young ones its a part of childhood. That aside its a worldwide classical and pop culture phenomen.

The old T rex from Jurassic Park one is a classical childhood hero not only for me but for many others. It was so cool to know that the very same T rex lady lives in the park even today.

When she appeared i had tears in my eyes.

It was a lot of fun and much better than I was expecting. It's refreshing to see a summer blockbuster that has some heart and brains behind it (similar to what Dawn of the Planet of the Apes did last summer). Seeing the first Jurassic Park 22 years ago was a landmark experience for me and I felt like a kid again while watching this one.

Finally JP finally received a worthy sequel. The first one is still the classic but was followed by two sequels that were pure dreck. Terrible films. And fortunately in JW, they both were erased completely from continuity, there is nothing said about the events of JP2 and TLW in this film as if they never happened. Only the events of the classic original is recognized.

I loved and enjoyed it. I do have some issues with climatic finish. Abit far-fetched inspite of the material. Great film nontheless.

The Rex scenes were fine, I loved those. But the final scene of the Raptor and Rex. It was kinda a meh moment.

You mean after the fight, when rexy looks down to blue? Well i loved it. They helped each other. Animals are like that. They are no monsters.

I hope no one that hasn't seen the movie reads this post as it is spoilerish.

Well, yeah, I see what you are saying and they were probably exhausted from the fight not willing to go another round.

That is quite plausible.

Such encounters between two different kind of predators does and has happened in the wild where they appear to mutually respect one another and choose not to cross paths or erupt into violence.

But the ability of ancient reptilian giant predators were capable of recognition between interspecies allies and enemies is questionable. Heck, I am no paleobiologists either.

No doubt many moviegoers probably loved the moment but I was left abit underwhelmed, rexes and raptors were no doubt natural enemies though according to paleobiologists they didn't even co-exist together yet both are said to have lived in the cretaceous period.

Massive Spoilers ahead! ;)

Both T rex and Raptor are not reptilian in any way. Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Dromaeosaurids (Raptors) are both advanced theropods. They have nothing reptilian in their body. Actually T rex and Raptors are both pretty much birds. The high intelligence of Raptors is unquestioned. They are placed at the same step ad parrots and dolphins.

The brain of T rex is also well known and it is very big and well developed, bird like. Tyrannosaurus rex was not a giant meat eating machine. It was an highly intelligent predator. Its brain is pretty much like the brain of a bird of prey. We know that T rex had strong mother feelings and they were social animals.

The largest known T rex was a female called Sue. Her fossil was found with two juveniles side by side with her. So far thats the only known dead juveniles of T rex. The death rate must have been incredible low, since they were protected from their mothers and propably even fathers. We also have indications that T rex hunted with a strategy that the juveniles chased the prey towards the adult who made the kill.

Knowing this may change your opinion about this scene. I think its genius and a tribute not only to this iconic T rex but the knowledge we achieved in the last years.

If you remember Rexy in JP1 she was a force of nature. She was not good and not evil. In the end she even saved the day when she crashed into the visitor center and killed both raptors.

After that she roamed free for a decade and was catched again in 2005 when Masrani did buy isla Nublar and build up the new park. She lived over 10 years in the wild which gave her experience. Now in 2015 she is 28 years old. We know that T rex did most likely had their maximum lifespan at 30 - 35 years. This means rexy now is in human years an elderly lady.

And the awesome thing is that the entire fight shows this experience and dominance. The hybrid is young and never left its cage before. It never faced a true alpha predator. It is scared from Rexy and you see Rexy is the one that attacks first and makes the first bite to the neck. The Hybrid just trashs around in panic and uncontrolled. Thats when the mishap happenes and Rexy loses balance and falls. When on the ground she is unable to get up fast enough. Thats the moment Blue saves her. Once Rexy is back up on her feet the hybrid is not able to make a single strike against her. She simply crashs it into the buildings and attacks with tactic and experience. I loved how they made this. Its not easy to figure out such a fight in a credible way but they did a great job. My guess they had tons of experts who adviced them.

You know your stuff, and I missed the whole point that that Rex is the same Rex from the previous movies. Wow, how did I manage to miss that?

But thanks for sharing your learned insights on these wonderful and awesome creations of the past.

Yes, I agree, all dinosaurs were forces of nature, but I did kinda dig the idea that the hybrid had an unnatural evil quality to it.

And the mosasaur was awesome to see in the movie. I love the water dwelling dinosaurs such as the mosasaurs and sarcosuchus, and prehistoric sharks like megalodon. "Monsters" of the lakes, rivers, seas, and oceans. What an awesome sight they must have been, if they existed today, they'd be literal "horrors".

I did abit of digging around on the Rex, I can understand the public's adoration of the king of the dinosaurs, Tyranosaurus Rex had a large brain and an awesomely powerful bite. Most if not all of the equally or larger terrestrial carnivorous dinosaurs often had relatively tiny brains and were basically dimwits compared to the Rex.

If there is a giant terrestrial carnivorous dinosaur of similar intelligence as the T. Rex, I am sure you could probably name them.

Thanks again that was very informative post.

All tyrannosaurids were highly intellgent. T rex is only the biggest species butbthe smaller ones like daspletosaurus were equally intelligent. And tze asian T rex (Tarbosaurus bataar) even reached similar size.

And yes the Mosasaur was awesome. What if i tell you that mosasaurs still exist? They are monitor lizards. They are not even a subspecies. They belomg to the squamata group and are put in same genera as monitor lizards. :D

Monitors are amongst my favorite lizards. Cool reptiles.

I love the small Australian Varanus Acanthurus or common name - Ackies. They are a smaller species measuring between 24-28" and youtube has a host of videos of them. Once again, thanks for the information sir.

But they weren't though. Just because they don't mention it (which would have been forced, cause, 'hey - remember those things that happened on that OTHER ISLAND those TWO TIMES that NONE OF US WERE THERE FOR?') doesn't mean it's erased from continuity. Heck, they had a Spinosaurus skeleton in an area which the Rex crashed through in a clear reference to the 3rd (and worst) film.

Also: Director said they weren't being written out of continuity.

Okay so I might be wrong, nonetheless, its as if Jurassic Park continues straight on to Jurassic World. I find that extremely satisfying.

I love the ideal of TLW being excluded from the continuity where a live adult lab-grown T-Rex is imported/smuggled to California beneath the noses of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs, and basically succeeds in not being sunk to the bottom of the Pacific ocean and escapes and runs rampant in the suburbs of San Diego. Geez, what an asinine movie. That film had no intelligence at all.

No i did not paint it but love it.

As for the TLW. It was a good movie. JP III sucked but TLW was ok.

I enjoyed the movie and being a Pokémon fan, it reminded me abit of the First Pokémon Movie with the iRex being the dinosaur version of Mewtwo, Ingen like Team Rocket and those scientists that created Mewtwo. Did anyone find those two similar with both being created by scientists and turning on their creators. The only difference is that Mewtwo turned good. I Rex seems more like the Mewtwo in the Gameverse with it having a savage heart. If that is the case, then would Owen be like Ash in some way and Rexie being Mew. All they need is Rexie leading an army of the original dinosaurs while the iRex leads a army of hybrid clones.

Thats kinda true. And Blue is like Pikachu. I think the Irex incorporates evrything whats bad in humanity. Its the product of greed, sensationalism. They kept her in isolation and made her a psycho. Rexie on the other hand is a pure T rex. She represents the real nature. She also did so in JP1. She is a force of nature, not good and not bad. She kills to eat and never for fun. She has a totally different background than the Irex. She grew up with 2 other T rex (the ones you see in JP2 on Isla Sorna). Rexie developed the fastest and most impressive and was chosen to be the main attraction in the park on Isla Nublar.

After the break down of the 1st Park she roamed free for ten years. She did not go on a rampage and kill all others animals. She killed for eating and simply filled the role as alpha predator, as the "Queen of Isla Nublar" until she was recaptured when the new Park was build.
