I agree ... Apparently, they remain as KITTENS, until, aged around two years
by which time her 'induction' may have lifelong effect, on her treatment of us (for the duration)

I tease you NOT.....

No pictures of her tonight

We took Gracie to the Vet this morning ~off her food and groaning with pain when handled

OUTCOME:
Gracie, is being 'kept-in' at the vets hospital
Some sort of virus
Kittens and older cats, can die from this virus
Stronger adults that have been vaccinated usually survive
We do not know yet....
if her shots actually gave her the virus
She has most certainly not 'been outside' since her arrival
except in a carrier while being taken to the vet for her vaccinations
:prayer:

Such a sweet and affectionate little kitten
What will be, will be
She isn't a pure-bred, so she may have some genetic 'strength'
to help her deal with it

The vet transfused her with fluids immediately because she is so small
and mentioned that she would receive antibiotics
~to prevent infection complications / bad symptoms
"There is no cure for this virus"

She has to do it on her own :(

Dave that is so sad. I hate seeing pets ill, and she is so small. :prayer: for her. I hope everything will turn out okay.

Can't believe the pictures of the adult cats!

Is Misty more independent then? Do they get on well?

Gracie is home, was AWAY just the one night
We got her back Thursday morning 'bright and sparky' \o/
Her antibiotics make her sleep for an hour (deeply)
But yes she is back

Hi Sue, playing catch up with some questions you asked

# the difference between Misty and Gracie
~ Misty will show us 'cupboard love' as we give her food treats in her dish
and then...she is gone.....
~~ Gracie is a bundle of affection, and will come SEEKING attention and, is happy to fall asleep upon us

Gracie, initially wary, will now walk amongst the dogs 'brazenly'
she doesn't flinch, not even 'a quarter-inch'
The girls have plainly been introduced,
and appear to acknowledge each other, passively

I hope you can view this:

 it is showing only a thumbnail and not the video
I will have-to work at this, some

Hi Dave,

Praise God for Gracie's safe return home. I'm so pleased for you, and her. The pictures are lovely; she looks sweet on your desk, but I can't imagine her sleeping there when she is older, judging by those photos of the adult cats! I was wondering how she gets on with the dogs, and Misty. I know cats can be very independent, and it sounds as if Misty is one of those. Is it partly her age; was she more affectionate when younger?

When Misty first arrived, she was 'submissive' and would be handled
as if being 'mothered'
and then; she became independent and aloof
This said: 'when the lights go out', Misty will leap onto the bed
and flop on my lap, purring really loudly
as I pet and smooth her, for up to ten minutes

They are and will be, BOTH, 'indoor cats'

They will play 'tumble' together
and seem to accept each other's 'presence' with-aplomb

:D

Update on Gracie

I pictured her last-evening, sleeping on the back of the settee
upon some freshly aired laundry
The first flash, disturbed her and the second pic, shows her annoyance

Just before midnight, Mary queried her still sleeping and we discovered that she has a temperature
and complained when 'handled' (aching)
She had her booster vaccination the day before yesterday, so this may be a reaction to that
We have an emergency number for the hospital, which is normally closed over the weekends
We will see how she is over the next day or two

I hope she's okay Dave. Saying a :prayer: for her!

Thank you Sue Sis'

I have just mentioned our situation in Prayer Requests
Mary was in tears at the vets this morning
But let us not give up hoping, for a miracle
:prayer:

I believe in the power God has given to prayers Sue Sis'
\o/

When we take Gracie to the vet hospital tomorrow, we expect to be reassured, that everything is going to be okay
Gracie is VERY-active, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed :D
Her tongue is also a unform pink and no sores (ulcers)
and Gracie is eating and drinking like the growing cat she is, ought to be eating

I will post a video here shortly

Dave, I just love looking at the pics of Gracie! She looks alot like my poor 'Punkin' who was killed many years ago by
a passing motorist. So sad. And they just left her there! My pastor saw her and checked her tags and brought her to us.
I was just a kid then. Thanks for Gracie bringing good memories of Punkin. I hope Gracie continues to improve.

Thank you zippy2

Gracie is (presently) just over, 12 weeks of age
Yes it does, truly look like she has, turned the corner (upon that virus)
Hopefully, she will have a long and healthy life (Maine Coon X)

I'm glad that you have fond and 'good' memories of your Punkin
and I am sorry you lost her to roadkill

Many thanks for your good wishes for Gracie's improvement

Feeling good
Yes, today we took Gracie to see the vet again
as far as the Pet Hospital is concerned
Gracie has recovered.......
Her being 'spayed' has been agreed for two weeks time
when then she will likely have fully recovered her strength and vitality

So yes, I am feeling good and cheerful

Praise God!:bow: He is so good!:clap: I liked the video Dave. You seem to have many pets. How do the cats react to the birds?

Sorry to hear about Punkin, zippy2.

Thanks rebornfree, but it was a very long time ago ..back in the 60's. It is just that Gracie's picture put me in mind of Punkin, that's all.

Dave all I can say is Praise the Lord, He is good. All the time.
