were all backing you up friend. my faith wavers all the time, but its ok. keep reaching out to God. even if theres times when you don't fully believe in him, try talking to him anyway. surround yourself with strong Christians, got to events and things. once you have got a hold on God and he has claimed you, you will never be lost unless you completely deny him.
even in my wavering I never fully deny God. remember its okay to have low times in faith, you just keep pushing on and seeking after Jesus.
God can see you are trying, and that pleases him. sometimes we have to take a stretch of faith even f we don't physically see or hear.
the devil is trying to keep you away from God, but just remember the importance of eternal life with God. do you really want to lose that?
you can get through, you have an entire kingdom behind you <3

Once you've seen god the way an atheist sees god, it's tough to go back. I know you posted this a long time, but I hope you're still learning and challenging your own beliefs every day! I know it's hard not being able to call out to a Heavenly Father for help. And that's certainly something that the Christian worldview has that's an improvement on the atheist world view. Having god and eternal life feels better than not having god and eternal life.

Just keep thinking for yourself and coming to your own conclusions! Life is hard stuff, keep up the good work.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.

O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things, Treasury of good things and Giver of Life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us of all impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us (thrice).

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

O Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. O Lord, wash away our sins; O Master, pardon our iniquities; O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name’s sake.

Lord, have mercy (three times).

Glory to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in the Heavens, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

I will pray for you but I must tell you that finding God may take awhile. It could even take you years. You must sometimes expect the answer to your prayers to be "no." I have been a Christian for over 25 years and in that time I have only felt God's presence a handful of times. God has answered some of my prayers and then he has not answered others, I took that as Him telling me "no." Despite my years, I still have much to learn if I want to draw even nearer to Him. You must be patient like I am patient. You must wait on the Lord. Good things come to those who wait.

I recently went through a hard time and God gave me the strength and the guts to tough it out. He gave me the ferocious will of a lion. I made it. I believe you can make it too.

Logictruthseeker, I would like to recommend 3 books. Acts Today, Signs and Wonders of the Holy Spirit by Ralph Harris provides many verified accounts of healings, Xenoglossolalia, divine provision and other supernatural occurrences. Also God's Generals by Roberts Liardon includes the biographies of Smith Wigglesworth, Maria Woodworth-Etter, John G. Lake, William Branham, Katheryn Kuhlman and several others. Only Believe by Don Stewart includes many accounts of supernatural occurrences in various Christian ministries. These books should be readily available on Amazon.com, Christian Book Distributors or the like at least in the US and Canada and hopefully elsewhere as well.

The books included here have a Charismatic/ pentecostal orientation and I believe that our God is God of the supernatural. I was inclined toward atheism at one time and there was great darkness in my life but God broke through in a miraculous way. It would be very foolish of me to turn away from the Lord Jesus knowing what I know. My testimony is so uncommon that to many it would seem unbelievable, a fabrication. But I know it is true and that there is a great and merciiful God. Keep seeking him and pray that He will reveal himself to you.

Lord help em see that you love em, and like the story of the prodigal son you will be there for them with open arms.
I command the blinders to be removed, and the devil to take his hands off of this individual and their life.
Thank you Jesus for dying for our sins, and forgiving us.
Lord I know it's your will that everyone should come to you, and that no one should perish.
Please lord guide and show this person the way back home into your loving arms.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Nice name, first of all!
Well, I am an atheist, and have lost my faith for two years, like you. So, while I cannot say I will pray, I can offer some very subjective advice.
I do not want anyone to suffer just because of their beliefs. I do not want to strip non-harmful ideas from people who need them. If you are surviving or staying comfortable due to faith, keep it until you become stronger. However, it sounds like you are past that point.
The first thing I would recommend is to seek out a therapist. If having a religiously affiliated one makes you do it, then I would say go for it. I personally would say that it is not important. What is most important is helping yourself. If God is who most Christians say He is, it seems likely that He might help at some point. However, that could be tomorrow or in twenty years from now, so I would not wait for help; I would seek it immediately.
I suppose a question I have is why you no longer say you are a Christian. There are many denominations, each with their own ideas. Knowing your own background in comparison with other's backgrounds could give you some perspective about why you came to believe what you did in the first place.
I hope I can be of some help. I do not want to push you if you do not want pushed.
(Just realized the origional post is from 2013, woops.)

Just a thought, but you are here on a Christian forum asking for help, you haven't completely lost your faith as I see it. I went through something similar when I left Christianity, during the end of my 'period of doubt' I prayed to God to help me find my way back to him and free me of the doubt and unanswered questions. He didn't, but he made me realise that if I didn't believe in him why was I praying! That was enough for me to take a risk, and what seems like a big risk, that you dedicate your life and soul to something false.

The Christian journey requires that leap of faith, in the beginning more than anything and for adults it is very hard, the doubts are strong. But I can recommend some things that may help you. The first is CS Lewis book Mere Christianity which is one of the best I have read giving a philosophical rationale for why God and Jesus must be truth. I also attended a course on 'beginners' Christianity at my local church. Its the classes adults take to be confirmed (and baptised if not) but usually there is no obligation to sign up for that you can just go and see what its like. I found much of what I thought Christianity was about wasn't actually true (like life being a 'test') and things which didn't make sense before suddenly fit into place.

Try not to put too much emphasis on reasoning though, if God could be proved with infallible reasoning and logic then there would be no atheists. The reasoning is exists and is good, but doubt can always be found by those that look for it, its impossible to escape the faith requirement regardless of how hard we try!

Welcome. When I read your message, I kept thinking how God has been waiting for you. There's a song that might help you right now. It's by a band called Hawk Nelson. The song is Drops in the Ocean. I really recommend googling for the song - youtube has it, Godtube must too. Hearing the lyrics sung brings it home. Here they are in text until you can find it yourself. Will be praying for you.

Drops in the Ocean
by Hawk Nelson

I want you as you are, not as you ought to be
Won't you lay down your guard and come to me
The shame that grips you now is crippling
It breaks my heart to see you suffering

Cause I am for you
I'm not against you

If you want to know
How far my love can go
Just how deep, just how wide
If you want to see
How much you mean to me
Look at my hands, look at my side
If you could count the times I say you are forgiven
It's more than the drops in the ocean

Don't think you need to settle for a substitute
When I'm the only love that changes you

Open your heart
It's time that we start again
