I kinda of have phone-phobia, I don't like calling people either. Years ago it stemmed from a really bad situation I had going on with a guy who was messing around with my head... so that kind of carried over to me not really liking to call people. I'm better at it now, but sometimes it takes a lot of convincing. Also, it doesn't help that in this day & age most communications don't happen over the phone. Some people just don't like making phone calls, and there's nothing really wrong with that, just try not to let it keep you from making those important & necessary calls.

One thing I struggle with is answering calls at work. I don't like to do it! I can make the necessary calls and follow up if something needs following up though. I have to think of the time zone, my dad and family is on the east coast.

If im nervous i just say a little prayer before calling someone like Lord give me the words to say.

Then usually the phone call turns out alright. I used to do this when got difficult customers ringing at the library, although I wasnt particularly afraid to call them...it was more..if they called the library it was usually a problem.

Maybe its because if you on the phone you are put on the spot and have to think of things to say?

I mean its awkward just to hear people breathing. You cant use sign language.
that has happened to me before both with the other person and myself. All I can think of it is...AKWARD!!

LOL! It's ok to say how awkward it is....it might even break through the silence and both of you might laugh, and when that happens, it's smooooth sailing and the conversation can be SUCH a blessing. Ev'ry body struggles with this to one degree or another. As a former colleague of mine used to say "it ain't that serious" and when ya' think about it, it's not....

Loosen up, go with the flow, and you may find that yer actually having fun, sis
