i believe that at one time there was just one one lord one faith and one baptism. I also believe that a restoration has taken place and the same authority and organization that existed in the church Christ organized has been restored as well. Along with that many truths that have been lost or taken away revealed. But I believe that we don't have all the truth. I believe that God has and is continuing to reveal truths to all of us. Every person that has or will live on earth has access to more truth. There are truths found in any belief that promotes good. All good is from God. I love learning others beliefs because there are truths that align with what I believe. I am glad for those who are mainstream Christian who have a strong faith in Christ. I am glad for those who believe in nature or a natural way life has begin. I learn from all. Where do you think truth comes from?

Gal 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

I don't believe humans can ever know any truth.
Take "1 + 1 = 2" as an example. Is that truth? It assumes that "1" and "2" and "+" and "=" are all truth. Those are just abstractions that humans have developed, so they might not be truth. (Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm certainly not a mathematician or philosopher :) )

I don't believe humans can ever know any truth.
When I watch a loving mother bonding her new born baby, I see Truth.
When I watch a loving father gently come to the rescue of one of His children, I see Truth.
When I experience the ecstatic moment when I come across a mountain meadow filled with flowers, I feel Truth.
When I watch a moving heart centered dance or other creative experience, I see Truth.
When working in the garden and experience the wholeness of wonder of what's around me, I experience Truth.
When I feel a deep seated love for my wife, I feel Truth.
When I see the pain and suffering of so many people around the world, I see Truth.
When watching a hawk land on and kill a squirrel running across my back yard, I see Truth.
When watching the BP oil spill, I see Truth.
When watching the mass human caused extinction, I see Truth.

As you can tell, I disagree with your statement. But I look at knowing Truth through the addition of consciousness.

As drstevej pointed out, that is a kind of self-refuting statement, but least you are being intellectually consistent with your atheistic presuppositions or lack thereof. By contrast, many atheists make bold claims about this or that but seemingly without the awareness you have that, from an atheistic perspective, there is no basis for certain knowledge, leaving only a kind of solipsism where one is trapped in one's own head.

Even as a lover of God is could not make such a sweeping statement as that.

It doesn't appear you are expressing truth but only your emotions.

Truth comes from one source alone.

John 14
5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Is this true?

I'm not sure if "I exist" is truth. I'm also not sure when I say "I believe" if that is truth. It's hard to know what I believe sometimes. Is there a single "I" with a single opinion on a topic?

When I say, "I don't believe humans can ever know any truth," there is no problem. Maybe my statement is truth, and maybe my statement is falsehood, but I don't know for sure. Where is the problem?

Anyway, what I'm really trying to say is that I'm cynical about people who claim to know some great cosmic truth. I can accept more practical truths such as an account of your experiences over the weekend.

It'd say it's "conscious awareness". There's a lot more going on in the Human Being than emotions.

.

I absolutely agree. I was just responding to the examples you gave. They were all emotional responses to situations. Others might respond or feel differently than you.

I don't agree. For instance, a bonding mothers love for her new born child carries way more substance than emotions. The same with a fathers tender care of his child in need. In both instances the parents are responding to an inner Truth that I suspect they can not explain. I could go down the list I gave in the same way.

What inner truth?
By the way, truth comes from Jesus alone. It's doesn't come from "inner".

I don't believe in anything like an absolute truth but the idea of taking lessons from other beliefs and using them to better your own views is very appealing to me.

If we're talking about the truth of the natural Universe, I'm going to trust the consensus of the scientific community.

If we're talking about spiritual truth, I'm going to primarily rely on my personal experiences in the pursuit of what I sincerely believe to be the divine. But I wouldn't dare declare it to be the "Truth".

Are you of the opinion then that the truth found in the bonding a mother has for her new born child came from Jesus? Or the truth found in the sprouting seed like wise came from Jesus? Or the coming together of the rocks to form the planet we call earth?

The term truth is found in Thessalonians, and many times in the letters of John. You should be able to piece them together and decipher a code. I prefer you deciphered it yourself so that you don't believe the answer that I give you but that you can find the same truth.
The love between parent and child is not a truth, its called phileo love

Ok, so there's not truth in the bonding love a mother has for her new born child? I don't agree at all with that idea. I just don't know how to deny the presence of Divine Love during those times that I've seen the Heart of Christ very brightly in the bonding love a new mother has with her new born child.
