Why no gun or shooting threads?

I've been doing a cursory search for threads about guns or the shooting sports and haven't found anything.

Am I looking in the wrong areas or are guns a taboo subject here?

I'm former military and law enforcement and own quite a few firearms. I'm a firm believer in self-defense and believe it is Biblically sound to carry a firearm and be prepared to protect one's self, family, and community from aggressors with a weapon.
