If you'd like to argue that, explain why you, or anybody else would have equal standing with Christ in these matters
I could be wrong in a lot of stuff I say.

But there's a lot of stuff I say that I'm not wrong about, either.

We don't study the Bible just so we can sit around and say, "I think what this is saying is..."

How about explaining where you got the idea: "willing to admit one could be wrong" equates to "they are wrong," please?

Or are you willing to admit that's wrong?

Can you take your own medicine?

Would you like any other confessions ?
Yes ... how about actually addressing what I was referring to?

You know?

Post 40?

And since Cearbhall liked it, he can do the same.

But I won't hold my breath.[VERSE=Romans 2:1,KJV]Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.[/VERSE]

Take my own medicine ?

Until my miracle healing from brain cancer 3+ years ago, I had never even read the Bible, nor did I have any interest in God

So, not only was I wrong, I was ignorant as well

Would you like any other confessions ?

Why would you do that?! Most of the people here are not experts on any given subject; we're laypeople, just like you. I have very little understanding of the nitty-gritty of population genetics and how mutations in the individual propagate to the entire population. Even assuming we do have some bona-fide experts (as RickG, sfs, and [serious] claim to be), not everyone knows everything, and assuming that any given person on a Christian forum is totally correct is a ridiculous thing to do. You want to understand evolution? You really ought to reach for those science books.

Perhaps you don't fully grasp how arguments are conducted here. Even seemingly good scholarship is rejected routinely. It's usually both sides tossing stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks.

If you have issue with what I said, highlight a sentence and let's go from there :)
I did highlight it -- in red -- when I wrote it.

Post 41 please.

I'll tell you what, Isaac:

Rather than play games with you, I'll just take what you said with a grain of salt and let it go at that.

Have a good day.

If I may ask, what about evolution is unsatisfactory to you?

My best answer would be the utter impossibility of evolution, as it is presented by science, happening at all. Things just don't build themselves.

I think you would be very interested in reading about "Y-chromosomal Adam." :)

It's perhaps important to note that Y-chromosomal Adam is not the same person from generation to generation.

Yes, good scholarship is routinely rejected. Hell, Lifepsyop has a 70-page thread on how the massive interdisciplinary scientific consensus doesn't matter.

Yup, but you probably won't find many people willing to admit they could be wrong about their interpretations of the story in Genesis

That would mean they are wrong, and only Jesus is never wrong,..so that must mean.....oh....wait
So what interpretation of the obvious should we have?

The Bible is meant to be mysterious not obvious, there are some obvious truths in it, but it is also the "infinite mystery" the reason for the mystery is because nothing attracts human beings more than a good mystery, and to solve these mysteries oftentimes means interpreting things spiritually, and using spiritual (which is an unknown to me "something" other than literal), anyways, "spiritual" (not literal or earthly) discernment to find the deeper meaning(s)...

God Bless!

Jesus said that He would reveal His words and Himself to us actually. The dark cloudiness is not needed.

And you really think that over 95% of scientists would agree with it if it were that flimsy? It boggles my mind that people think that those who haven't studied it are the ones who know better, when they really just don't understand it.

Evolution does not, in any way, suggest that things build themselves. I already said that it's just a name for genetic mutations.

I have no problem with some genetic mutations within a species, but not to the extent that a whole different creature is formed by it. I also don't believe 'mutation' can account for the incredible variety and complexity of interdependent organisms.
