I think you will find different understandings of hell between different Traditional Christians.

The Orthodox Church is not dogmatic about hell. We are far more focused on our particular salvation.

One explanation that is commonly offered is not so much a created place full of flames and tortures designed to inflict pain/punishment upon the condemned. Rather, God is love, and loves all of His creation. However, man in a fallen and wicked state is opposed to God, and experiences His love in accordance with the passage "our God is a consuming fire". So while God loves them, they are opposed to God and hate Him and His love, so that they experience it as torture and a consuming fire. After all, is there a place where God is not present?

God is omni present,so He is present in Hell...and That will be part of their torture. They will curse Him for their state

Ps 139 …7Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. 9If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,…

What do you suppose will be God's attitude, if He is present in that sort of Hell watching people be tortured and hearing them curse Him?

This would be my understanding too; closer to this Orthodox view. God's fire is the fire of the burning bush and the fiery furnace; it consumes sin and evil so that what is left is a soul refined of impurities. We all go through this refining process one way or another.

Because it exist?
There are many places that exist. What makes Hell different from the other places that exist?

The moon is place. What makes it the place that it is are a bunch of things like being in earth's orbit, being made of rock, having craters, etc.

So what are the sorts of things that make Hell the place that it is?

I know what your trying to do and it will not work. I do not believe God is everywhere, like you and some in here, not because He could not be but because He chooses not to be. You see as a child into adulthood I have learned that God is so perfect and so full of goodness that evil cannot exist in around Him. So what does that leave use with? Two options one that all evil is eventually annihilated after the end sometime or that God because of His infinite mercy created a place where evil can exist apart from Him and that we call Hell.

So I believe God created a place called Hell that was perfect also but put Satan and all his followers there (including humans) and because Satan has become evil he has corrupted that place and hence fire and all kinds of bad stuff are there.

I am afraid that no forum will change my mind.
