What you did say is that it's more important to save a persons soul than it is to feed them. Here's the quote:

.
True. But not mutually exclusive.

And this is why the church should not be unequally yoked. There's more emphasis on evangelism in scripture than there is on feeding the poor. Which doesn't mean that we shouldn't feed the poor. But the eternal far outweighs the temporal.
Upside down.

I would agree it certainly is in the New Testament. It is not that way in the Tanach. There's really no such thing as evangelism in the Tanach.

Here's what I see. If for these past 2000 years the church was way more concerned and focused with feeding the hungry and serving those in need than it was in saving souls, today the world would be a much better place. Of that I have no doubt. And with a lot more of humanity coming to Christ. It feels like an opportunity lost because things were upside down.

Matthew 6:2

So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
Imo, if charitable or evangelistic work resulted in prestige it would be a heckuva lot easier to recruit people to do it.

This isn't a zero sum game. You don't give up one to do the other.

Nowhere did I say to give up one to do the other. What I've been saying is that it is upside down.

If they are both being done, there's no issue.

How much is talked about feeding the poor?

I think think of a number of Torah laws that speak about helping the poor, feeding them, how to cut your field so that the poor can gather the rest. I can think of a number of places in the Prophets that speak about helping the poor, the elderly, and the orphan.

Within the community. How about outside the nation of Israel?

I didn't see a requirement in the posts that speak about it having to be outside a specific community.
True. So that would be even more of a reason to not hire a Mormon to help feed the poor in my local church.
