So, some religions say some things, some religions say other things. Often they agree, but equally often they differ. So, on what basis to decide which is right? Where they contradict each other, both points of view can't be equally accurate. But then again, one religion might be right in some respects, and wrong in others. And that goes for all religions. If all religions might be partially right, and none wholly right, on what basis does one choose?

And this is before we consider the added complexities of sub-religions; all the schisms, denominations, movements, sects, and cults that claim allegiance to some particular mainstream train of thought.

So, how do you decide what is true?

Best wishes, POAW.

Once you realize it is not about religion or a certain church and realize that it is a relationship with Jesus, guided by the Holy Spirit and Blessed by God - you will realize that Jesus is your friend and closer than your shadow and a heartbeat away. I came from a very strict upbringing as a Protestant, married a Catholic, disowned by my family, years later was not feeling right about my relationship with God, went to the Lutheran church to meet in the middle, then met a friend who was Spirit Filled and I saw a totally different walk. That changed my life - I ask the Holy Spirit to fill me and guide me and church became just a place to go because there was no way the church can bring this relationship that is personal and you know that Jesus is holding your hand and guiding you every step of the way. The church is the building, we are the church. You can get really confused by all the different churches and their different ways. I was raised you could not dance, wear makeup, cut your hair, wear slacks, go to movies, watch tv, play games with dice, etc. That was all so unnecessary and a personal relationship with Jesus is so wonderful. The Bible tells you that He is your friend and will never leave you. Put aside all the different ways the church says you must live, turn to Jesus and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and lead you and let that be the determining factor in your life.

It can be frustrating to choose a church or a religion. I was brought up Catholic and tho I hold a respect for the religion it wasn't for me. Religion maybe everything to some but RELATIONSHIP is what counts, as was said earlier. I opened my heart and God led me to a bible based church. Amazing things happened and he spoke to me through the pastor. Being a new member the pastor did not know me or my situation. The holy spirit will guide you. Man made rules can get in the way of really opening up that door to Jesus. But once you do its worth it.
Blessings to you. ♡

May I ask to which denomination you belong? Because I Think I agree with you and am still a bit searching myself.

I walked into assembly of God. And immediately felt welcomed like they were my family.
We moved from Ma to Hawaii. I started becoming very homesick. Walked into a church a little late, pastor was already talking. Not knowing us or our situation, she came over to us and told us she had a message from God, that we got out of a terrible situation and even tho we may want to turn back now , God was telling us no. Keep moving forward because there were so many blessing we have yet to receive. That we must stay united as a couple and stick it out. But trust in the Lord...
We moved because we lost our jobs, my mother passed away and family began throwing everyone under the bus. It was very ugly and very saddening after losing my mom. But I wanted to go back home because I missed it. But what was there really to go back to? God knew I was headstrong about going home, but I Iistened to him stuck it out and finally at peace. I knew that was the right church for me. They are not about man made rules, or prayers that you have to say in a certain order. You just celebrate Christ freely and apply what the word is for that sermon to your life in one way or another. What may be great for me may not be for someone else. But I recommend Assembly of God. Like my pastor puts it, it's not the religion its about the relationship ♡ keep trying until God shows you the right one.
