• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

What kind of jobs are good for someone who has chronic health problems and cant keep a steady 9-5 job with responsibilities. Ideally I'd need a very understanding boss or to be my own boss of sorts. I just don't know what I can do that is professional and will bring decent income.
Programming on the Internet. Me, I'm non-hearing, so everyone would have to write everything down anyway. I got my job when I was in chronic pain and couldn't sit down. I can constantly clock in and out without anyone caring. I'm a bug finder/tester for the same company now, but it's the same deal. My own hours, etc. Wake up in the middle of the night and I can say hello to the team on the other side of the world.
I wouldn't know what you mean by a decent income. I pay my bills and give to those in need: that is enough for me. (hold on. Gotta build a program) No medical insurance, though, but the last time I had a chronic illness I had the elders pray and got both of 'em cleared up. (downloading and creating another file to download) So I've too many blessings to quibble.

get into a customer service position where you can stay in one place. I was in our company's contact center doing online support and it was fantastic. I am now back all over a concrete floor and it's killing me. I'm trying to get into a receptionist or desk job again as a front desk person or something. I have MS so it's important I don't move much. Often times, I cannot move much to begin with.
