So God has sent me here, knowing of my thirst in talking about him and those who do evil against him. I win souls, I read my Bible, I pray, and I let God change me. Not for my salvation (I'm already saved), but because I want to be his soldier. I love to preach about him to others, expose heresy, and to show people who misunderstand God the truth.

I am here to get to know the community here. God has told me about how I will be rebuked my many, here, considering WHY he wants me here. I am here to preach about his Son, Jesus, and expose those (people, religion, evils, false teachings) that lead people to Hell. For God knows that I want to win souls to him, but God also wants me to tell people the evils that pervert his word, and twist his teachings. Just remember that I come here with the best intentions and love for God's creation. This is my only post for tonight, I shall post tomorrow if I get the chance. I will answer the poll in another post. Until then, Jesus be with you!

You should try asking this question in the soteriology forum. :) you'll get better answers there. Here's the link: http://www.christianforums.com/forums/salvation-soteriology.83/

As for your poll, none of the above are correct. All of the options you gave sound like works-based salvation. Salvation is something God does, not something we do. God doesn't work based on whether or not we take the sacraments and whether or not we decide to trust Him.

I would say that to be saved, Jesus has to decide overcome the sin in you. Your permission might be required... maybe.

Forgive me if I made all sound like works based salvation. For I do NOT believe in that. I have been saved by faith alone in Christ. His sacrifice on the Cross was enough to save me, and everyone on this world. Yes, it is OUR CHOICE of we want to be saved or not. But you must have faith in Jesus alone to get you to Heaven, he is the way, the truth, and the life!No man comes unto the Father but by him! Works are fruit of repentance (a change of mind, not life). Nice to see someone around here knows what true Salvation is.

I see where you're coming from. I don't really emphasize the "your choice" thing though. I don't think our choices really count that much, although I do admit that our will may be a factor. I think God's will and God's hand is all that really matters.

Part of why I don't like the "You choose Jesus" mentality is that I feel like it puts emphasis on the idea that your good choice (to follow Jesus) saves you, not that God's hand saves you.

Do you believe perfection is necessary for salvation?

Absolutely not.

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." ~ I John 1:8

We are imperfect, we cannot be perfect. If we could, why would we need Jesus? Jesus came to die for our sins, not to make us stop sinning. I feel God wanted to make salvation easy. If we had to do good works and stop sinning to be saved, then next to nobody would go to Heaven! Because those who tried would fail, and those who were offered would be too scared to accept, because of the big mountain they see ahead of them that they cannot climb. Therefore, God made it easy, and all that we must do is accept the gift, and we are saved! And even with this, many will go to Hell as Jesus said, but the few will enter heaven! Not the couple of people whom are "sinless."

Therefore, if we refused God's gift, it is on us! We will have no excuse to say no if we were right! The only excuse we would have was unbelief, but that will still get you to Hell.

All I know is I don't want to go to hell, and be damned for-ever, I fear my god, because he can do that to me, but I fear him far much more knowing I will never be able to reach out to him.

I can only do my best to live a good life, and try to do good in life, and thank- god, and lean on him throughout it.
I can't do more than reach out and prayer to God in the name of Jesus, and have faith in him.
I can't do more than try to do my best to walk in the light of the life God wants me too, and try to resist all temptations, be good.
Repent my sins, and ask for forgiveness, and if, that is not enough, then it isn't enough, but it is my best, and that's all I can do :(

My friend, do you know what repent means? Repentance is a CHANGE OF MIND! Not life! God can change your life if you truly want God to. To turn from your sins is not to stop sinning, or overcome it, but to turn away from sin as to change your mind about it, and go to Jesus.

"And it repented the Lord that he made man on Earth, and it grieved him at his Heart." ~Genesis 6:6 KJV

God did not change his life about man, but changed his MIND about man, and flooded the world. We are saved through faith, nor by works!

Thank-you for clarifying, I am still new to all of this, I had a change of heart about God only a few days ago, and I want to develop that relationship I never had with him, I want to push the things away that made me who I was, I relise I will never stop sinning, I am a helpless sinner, and I will never be perfect, but changing my heart, and pushing them things out of my life such as the occult, is what I want to do, I haven't just changed my mind about it, I have came to recognize that this stuff is truly evil, whether by the work of sin, or satan, I don't know, I do know in my heart that this isn't something to be meddling in though, I am collecting up all of my occult books and throwing them in the bin in the next few days, which I suppose you could say, has for me, been a change of heart too, and turning away from it. Is that the right thing to do? I feel it is.

I see you are making a commitment to God. You are entering into Discipleship. A lot of people confuse Discipleship with Salvation. Jesus does all the saving, you just need to have faith and believe in him. With Discipleship, it depends on YOU. The path WILL be hard. Now if you trust in Jesus with faith alone to get you to Heaven, and you believe the Gospel, YOU ARE SAVED! But this commitment means you are becoming a Disciple of God. You will go through Hardships, life can be painful, and the Devil will get closer to you as you get closer to God. Satan will try to look like God, sound like God, and feel like God, do NOT trust your feelings all the time. Keep Faith in God, and he will set the path for you. If you want to be his Disciple, it will be on you.
