I was an atheist. I did not pray to God, (atheists do not believe in God you know). I just recited (like a parrot) the Hail Mary.

Hoping that if there is a God, He will reveal Himself.

And, God revealed Himself as Jesus.

- I recited the Hail Mary like a parrot but a parrot with all my heart - who prayed or interceded for me ??? - the answer - nobody but Mother Mary.

Mother Mary was interceding for me whilst I was an atheist reciting the Hail Mary.

She brought me to Jesus.

P.S. A few years ago - when I was on my way home after Mass - as usual - I wanted to say a little Hail Mary near a statue of Mother Mary - however there were too many people near her - I had to stand about 14 feet away - as I recited the Hail Mary - looking at the statue of Mother Mary - suddenly I saw a lady's face - in real life - the lady's face was someone who is alive and the background was 'white'; she looked very serene - looking back at me - I was so shocked - that the people around me noticed my shock - because of my shock I looked away from her and when I looked back - it was just the statue of Mother Mary - I did not have the chance to ask her who she was and if she was Mother Mary - my troubles did not melt away after seeing the vision - I still face my every day struggles - however - I am certain - we are not alone.

Never had any, nor ever saw any reason to. God, my Savior, is all in all for me. There is no other One.

How I loved as a young adult reading Winnie the Pooh taking me into another world at the right time Blessed by Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit.

I do not know quite where to start nor finish speaking about our Heavenly Mother Mary - our Blessed Virgin Mary with great Love in my Heart for Mother Mary - I could write a book - as in all probability most people of whom have come closer to Jesus through our Blessed Virgin Mary could too write their own books, experiences and testimonies!

Jesus Christ our Saviour through our Heavenly Mother Mary (I love you Mother Mary) our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God saved my life while dying and during serious life threatening occasions because I turned to Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary praying to Mother Mary Her Holy Rosary for urgent assistance and trust in my heart every time. I Love and thank Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary for assisting my soul to be saved from eternal damnation, by leading me back to repenting sins from my heart (as opposed to mind only) in genuine remorse. There had been a lapse of many years from not repenting sins to Jesus/God and I was called back by The Blessed Virgin Mary Herself to attend this while dying in Her Love and Firmness.

I was shown and re-shown by The Blessed Virgin Mary through Jesus Christ our Saviour/God The Most High what was in fact in store and is in store for souls/people of whom do not repent their sins regularly turning to Jesus in genuine remorse.

We are all at risk of this if not repenting from our hearts daily and/or weekly and/or monthly, turning to Jesus in genuine remorse for all sins committed back to when we were Children.

The Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God led me back to Her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour, speaking to my Heart through Her Holy Rosaries daily and within Jesus' Divine Mercy Chaplet, focussing on Jesus, His Life, His bitter Passion and Sorrowful Stations of His Cross in illustration, as guided by The Blessed Virgin Mary daily, and then Jesus speaking to my Heart (December 2013) while initially praying to Jesus - His Divine Mercy Chaplet daily at 3pm/6pm/9pm and/or twice daily for several years to date with repentance of sins from my heart daily to Jesus, fasting most days and thrice weekly, receiving Jesus' Blessed Holy Sacraments - His Holy Eucharist daily or thrice weekly from my heart, knowing that Jesus is indeed Present in His Holy Tabernacle and at His Altars and 'everywhere' when one focusses on Jesus and Him, His bitter Passion and Sorrowful Stations of His Cross, opening one's heart to Jesus in complete trust.

May I add here that during The Holy Rosary prayers have always been prayed from my heart for many many Holy causes and world causes for people with some personal causes added at the end. My heart now is focussed on praying daily for the primary Holy causes that Jesus Himself and the Blessed Virgin Mary have given me along the way;

+ For the Conversion of Sinners - to Jesus Christ our Saviour and requested by Jesus Himself spoken to my heart and of which Jesus requested to Saint Faustina for mankind to pray and stated to Saint Faustina:
"The Prayer most pleasing to Me, is the Prayer for the conversion of sinners. Know My Daughter, that this prayers is always heard and answered". I receive "Granted" by Jesus and God The Most High when I have completely opened up my heart focussing on Jesus' bitter Passion and His Sorrowful Stations of His Cross during Prayer with "good, good" by Our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God and Jesus Himself speaking to my heart other Holy Words of encouragement, just a few are: - "focus on My Passion My Child" and "Thank you My Child", at other times by God "Thank you My Daughter", "Sin no more", after reconciliation done, "Focus on the 7 Gifts of The Spirit The Holy Spirit", "My name used by Jesus a few times when Jesus is pleased with my efforts having sacrificed a great deal of the day to Prayer and opening up my heart to Him" (this greatly saddens my heart with words (kind of similar yet worse like a hole/void in my heart) I cannot express when I have missed Jesus greatly during the days that earthly stuff has taken over), and of course just as much when I miss The Blessed Virgin Mary speaking to my heart.

I don't suffer and have never suffered depression - it is the fact that once coming closer to Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary in our hearts, and receiving Jesus and our Blessed Virgin Mary into our hearts - we all are suffused with God's most powerful Love and Joy that we wish to be in Communion with Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit the whole time! I have more changes within my day to day life/tasks forthcoming after Christmas in order to spend more time with Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary praying and being in Holy Communion with God and The Blessed Virgin Mary.

So...I offer up all of these 'earthly' things to Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary daily and Consecrate my Heart Mind Body and Soul to Jesus' Sacred Heart and to our Blessed Virgin Mary's Immaculate Heart for the Holy Souls in Purgatory - all Holy Souls - some would be our ancestors and loved ones, some Babies, some Children, some Teenagers, many Adults with so many prayers from my heart to Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary daily while trusting completely in Jesus.

....and every time all distractions vanish by Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit allowing me to once again turn and focus on Jesus Himself praying to Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God.

Yesterday, God The Most High/The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. The last occasion was during December/January/February with admonishment - God's Holy Words with Jesus blasting Heretics and Blasphemers of which were to be distributed. This time God's Holy Words were Loving, gentle and encouraging to my heart (some of these Holy messages were posted on another thread at the beginning of the year).

I received during Prayer not to repeat what has been stated on this occasion. Jesus Himself was present during initial Prayer yet quiet in His Love. The Blessed Virgin Mary spoke to my heart afterwards. Tears flowed with Love for God receiving Him, Loving gratitude to Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary for presenting me to God The Most High and later with the frustration in relation to many things. Ridiculous worldly things/activities that ultimately may cost our souls in the end if we do not turn to Jesus Himself in genuine contrition for sins, thoughts, actions and 'inactions' giving to the poor and needy from our hearts in compassion and mercy to others.

A greater weight is placed upon people/souls when receiving Jesus into our hearts more and more. For many reasons, the most important being to refrain from sin in thoughts, actions and words knowing that for every prayer and compassionate and merciful action from the heart; sin can undo our hearts and souls with the blink of an eye - and if remains unrepented to Jesus - we had best hope when going to sleep of a night - that we do not cross over to Jesus and God The Most High ; therefore my suggestion is to repent one on ONE making the Sign of The Cross, praying to Jesus, from a genuine remorseful heart prior to the commencement of the new/next day.

Prayer and Deeds are the best ways giving to others if prayed to Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary from our hearts in trust, for as many causes that will benefit others here on earth, the sick and the dying, the Holy Souls in Purgatory, (God The Most High in His Holy Will rewards those of whom turn to Jesus praying for all of The Holy Souls in Purgatory and for the sick and the dying to be taken into Jesus' Divine Mercy at the hour of their deaths), praying to The Blessed Virgin Mary for others and their struggles, ie just this afternoon I was led by The Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for the "unemployed" in the world. A hard lesson by Jesus/God The Most High was given to me today, as a direct reminder of the sufferings of the "unemployed". God has given me His Loving Holy Graces, Blessings and Gifts during my life with well paid work, however, God has also given me 'unpaid work' for many years, having led me to caring roles in an unpaid capacity, which gave me "O" time to work in the conventional ways and I am not complaining.

Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit have replaced paid work for Prayer and Deeds from my heart to Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit and our Blessed Virgin Mary for many causes.

+ For the conversion of sinners throughout the world to Jesus Christ our Saviour and The Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God.

+ For all of the sick and dying to be taken into Jesus' Abyss of Divine Mercy - Jesus Himself requested Saint Faustina to pray constantly for all souls dying to be taken into Jesus' Abyss of Divine Mercy at the hour of death with special Prayers and Jesus' Divine Mercy Chaplet to be prayed at 3pm daily for this Holy Cause. Jesus urges me during this Prayer for the conversion of sinners to focus on His bitter Passion and many Holy Agonies that encompassed His bitter Passion. I receive "Granted" on many occasions by Jesus when having fully opened up my heart to His Sufferings during Prayer.

+ For our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God's Holy Intentions - this has been requested most recently and urgently by The Blessed Virgin - and I never fail to include this Holy Cause to Jesus and our Blessed Virgin Mary.

+ For all Children, Families and others living in the Middle East, Africa and India in poverty, for Jesus/God's Love protection health and safety with our Blessed Virgin Mary's Loving Holy Intercession through The Holy Apostles, Martyrs and Saints, Holy Archangels and Angels during every prayer within The Holy Rosary. The Blessed Virgin Mary needs me to really concentrate on Jesus and His Bitter Passion to completely open up my heart to Jesus with complete trust in Jesus, during The Holy Rosary for all of these causes - world causes. I "feel" the disappointment at times with Her Love, when I have not fasted on that day which greatly assists me completely opening up my heart. Somehow, if I have eaten some sweets prior to praying and trying to open up my heart focussing on Jesus and His bitter Passion - the sweets or junk food has blocked my heart from receiving Jesus fully and receiving Jesus speaking to my heart greatly. Difficult to explain yet I know the reasons after these past years having experienced this situation.

+ For the wealthy in the world to give greatly (and many do!) with consciences triggered by Jesus and The Blessed Virgin Mary to give greatly to the poor, particularly those of whom reside in poverty stricken countries. I pray "continue to give greatly" because there are many wealthy business people of whom I have learned donate millions to Charities and directly to the poor over in the middle East, Africa and India and other countries and causes that people would be astounded at their incredible generosity through the prayers of millions of Christians and Catholics around the world. Don't forget that every "Our Father" Prayer and every "Hail Mary" Prayer are heard and go to Jesus Christ our Saviour and to The Blessed Virgin Mary on their Holy Heads as Roses which is for the Cause prayed and in Jesus/God's Holy Will, we are blessed eternally more greatly for giving to Jesus, Mother Mary and those prayed!

+ For all government leaders throughout the world with consciences triggered and awakened by Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit and our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God, turning to Jesus in trust, of Whom greatly through the Centuries has converted peoples souls to Her Son our Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour while these last couple of generations pretty much oblivious to all of The Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God's conversions to Her Son Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit regardless of being any denomination!

+ For all of Jesus/God's Christian Missionaries, Catholic Missionaries, His religious in the world, medical personnel, emergency personnel, Christian Charities, Charities (and reaching the poor), Apostolates, Shepherds, and all of the Christian people/souls serving Jesus/God and others.

+ Every Prayer including The Our Father and The Hail Mary for causes prayed are heard and answered in Jesus/God's Holy Will. All of the prayers prayed to Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit and to our Blessed Virgin Mary have been answered throughout my life; every Prayer. My own biological father can vouch the same. He always prays The Our Father's with his causes asked and The Hail Mary to The Blessed Virgin Mary - and He is 83 years of age and been dying a few times including accidents and other things that Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit and our Blessed Virgin Mary - every time through our Blessed Virgin Mary my Father has prayed and asked for assistance through Her Holy Rosary.

+ There are many other world causes too numerous on the list prayed daily and the Glory is All Yours Dear God our Heavenly Father now and forever, Amen. I Love and Thank Thee Dear our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God for Thy Love, Holy Wisdom, Holy Guidance and Holy Enlightenment from Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit now and forever. Amen.

1. One day I saw some words. I did not want to comply. It is work for me.
2. A year later I saw some other words. I read. I was amazed, they came true.
3. Years later, in faith +++ felt, I am asked to go somewhere. I cancel.
4. Soon I ask if I should have gone. I want the answer in not uncertain terms.
5. My aswer comes. One other even noticed. At the end, I realized it is Mary.
6. I am called again to go, this time I try again, but stumble.
7. Others helped Mary.
8. One day, in frustration I ask why. A GIFT, the letters seen in my chest.
9. I go. I arrive. I am certain at one point it's all not true, no calling, just con.
10. The gift starts, I see God's Essence. Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
10.1 I did not know that, I fell in love.
11. The next day Jesus comes within, and allows me to ask many questions.
11.1 I did not know it was Him. I would find out later. I suspected it was.
12. The next day, Mary hereself appears. She exchanges the sign of Peace.
13. I go home.
14. At the airport are inner airport buses to planes. My foot steps on the step.
14.1 It is the step, I saw at the end of the Maternal Chastisement.
14.1.1 The one for not going the first time, on faith+++ alone.
What changed? I know God, Mary, Jesus, The Holy Spirit. I know them together. I know each of them separately. This could go on and on and on.

It's a progressive, ongoing thing for me so far. I come from a fire-breathing evangelical background so I guess she knew to be patient.

It started off with just keeping an open mind. Then it became the occasional Hail Mary. Then it become a few other Marian devotions.

I smelled Roses before when I was very anxious and depressed, it made me feel better to know the Blessed Mother was near

I've prayed the rosary and Stations of the Cross a few times when I attended Continuing Anglican and Episcopal churches. I felt very moved singing the Stabat Mater. And I believe the rosary is an excellent practice, particularly the scriptural rosary.

Sometimes I ask for the intercessions of the Mother of God. It's probably rare for a Protestant to do so, but I do it anyways. I go to Lutheran and Episcopal churches ATM and neither one denies that she doesn't pray for us (in fact I think the Augsburg Confession affirms it). I even ask for the intercessions of people that I just consider devout during life, but not canonized.

It is for me to. As it says I the Glories of Mary, the important thing with devotion to Mary is to choose any practice which one likes, however small, and do it regularly.

The full consecration to Jesus through Mary as prescribed by St. Louis DeMontfort has helped me a lot. I used St. Louis's formula, but this year I will use the 33 Days to Morning Glory book.

St. Louis' True Devotion to Mary book has been very helpful, as well as the Glories of Mary by Liguori.

However, there's quite a difference between us praying to the dead and, OTOH, believing that those who have gone on to be with the Lord pray for us.

I refuse to believe the saints are dead. It is that simple.

Of course it's not "that simple."

And you refuse to acknowledge the most common use of the word. So here's what we can do. Whenever I say that someone has died, you translate that as meaning "their bodily functions all ceased and their physical life here on Earth ended, with them then continuing on into the spirit world in which they still, although disembodied, continued to have consciousness and a personal identity." That will save me a lot of time on the keyboard.

I'd rather see and talk about the world through the eyes of faith than the eyes of what is deemed ordinary or natural by the standards of the world.

I respect your choice to not want to participate in prayers or venerations to the BVM, but this thread was created for those that do and would like to share in that topic. There are at least a couple of open dialogues currently going on in other threads and I would prefer that discussions against this OP would be handled there.
