How big is your yard? My brother built a cat proofing around my whole fence so mountain lions don't get in and the cat does not get out. He basically set it up so that a barrier exists between the top of the fence and the cat. I'd do something like that and call it a day. I also would not bother bringing spiritually into this because it's not a spiritual issue. Those people are jerks, please don't question yourself.
I saw that online and was hoping I could replicate it, is it netting or poultry fencing connected to angled brackets on the fence? If so what did he use for brackets?

I
My neighbor sprayed poison that killed my cat because it kept doing its business in his flower beds. I can't prove it but I miss my cat.[/QUOTEi
I'm sorry about your cat that Is why I have decided to try enclosing our back yard. I forget that there are mean people out there, and many like my neighbors who see animals as things instead of loved members of the family.
Do you talk to your neighbor? I know we need to forgive, and holding on to the hate just hurts us, but I'm sure it must be hard after what he did. I am having a hard time and my cats are still fine. Just the knowledge that they are willing to do harm to something I love makes me think very little of them.

My own advice is just simple. Firstly if you are in position of your neighbor what do you do, Secondly in order to avoid face off with your neighbor keep your cat from going out. Thirdly hate is a sin before God, a lot of people are going to hell because of word hate. Your neighbor still your best friend for such neighbor to come and tell you what he/she feel show that is he/she is mean good for you. Take for example if you wake up one day and find out your cat is dead or got missing what will you do.

Teaching your 'nosy' pet to respect your neighbor's privacy is to understand their animal behavior as animals have noses that are more sensitive than ours, so a repellant of some kind, would definitely repel the animal to get that human message in that animal mind:
"Oh, that's what you mean by 'neighbor's privacy' - Sure, mate!"
Google 'stink plants that repel pets' and you would find various guides and methods.;'*';.

oh dear. Well, what worked with our chickens was having two fences keeping them closed and their wings clipped.
But that's chickens. We also fed them and made sure they knew their special food was on our side of the fence.

With cats..a well fed cat will stay with you and won't go wandering. I don't think your neighbour feeds your cats though. So, not really sure what could keep your cats from being super annoying to your neighbour. Maybe if you see them wandering over just keep calling them back and giving them a treat when they come back.

If dogs ever come near or on our property, and this applies to unwanted cats as well, I use a water gun. One or two sprays and they get the message.
I wouldn't know what to do with a dog if I caught one in a trap.
I dont know if your neighbour would appreciate you saying just use a water gun probably they don't want to be bothered...but say they actually do work and more effective than a trap. Your cats probably are too smart to go in that trap anyway.
