• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Angry. Christians are losing every cultural battle and seeing the defeatist way Catholic shrug their shoulders makes me wish Christianity would just die off already. The mix of an omnipotent God who does nothing and a decaying laity gives me no reason to come back to Catholicism or any Christianity. It fills me with searing hate, they can all just die.

I actually had those thoughts a couple of times. Don't lose hope like that. Christianity will survive. Ideas as great as it can't just die to appease whoever. Christianity is just ,owing from the west to the global south, and I am optimistic about its future.

And why do you assume God is doing nothing? He could be working behind the scenes right now, shaping history with a few seemingly mundane actions. Don't underestimate Him. ;)

I'm better. Been writing since I got home, but stuck again. And I think when I get the money (may donate plasma for this), I'm gonna get another tattoo to mark a new chapter in my life, perhaps that vine/flower tattoo I want to go up my side or a quote somewhere.
You already got a cross tattoos, right?

Yes (I got it when I was still a Christian at eighteen, it was something that my eldest brother started when he turned eighteen, and then the middle, and then the third, and now me), and the Assassin's Creed insignia on my ankle.

I just fail to see why something all powerful would work so subtlety and then punish people eternally without hope of redemption when we can't experience his presence in this world.

The problem with God is not that we can't know Him or experience Him, (Acts 17:27-28,) nor did He condemn anyone to hell, but He saved the whole of humanity through His Son Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Romans 5:18, 1 Timothy 4:9-10 or 1 John 2:2,) the problem is that God is spiritual and we humans often stare ourselves blind at the physical and then claim we can't know God

I think God is great and only want more of Him. The Word has saved my life many times over without Him I would still be down in the pit. All glory to His Name!

God will blame me and all I can say is his spirit only weakly burned while he made me bear witness Christianity dying from an aloof and dispersed flock. Why suffer for Him when Christ word is drowned out by godless society. A few million saved while billions burned forever. It makes Christ's sacrifice feel wasted.

You're looking at it from a human point of view. Just because it appears Christianity is dying and being abandoned doesn't mean that it is. All of the people for all time, I'm certain, number far more than just a few million or so. Christianity is alive and well. I once was concerned about the size of the faithful as well, but now I've realized that it's best to trust Jesus when things seem bad, and, well, lean not unto your own understanding. That's kind of what you're doing right now.

I hope you're able to relax and feel better.

I need to spend more time in the chapel at work, my longing for children is raising its head again and I must seek a way to channel this effectively. I don't want to end up in the same state as two years ago, with the added thought of getting closer to 30. Perhaps I need to get back into volunteering with the Guides, at least then I could channel my broodiness in a proactive manner.

Hey, at least you have options. There's not much spiritual stuff I can help out with at the moment in any regard.

Sometimes I feel so worried for the people on here...and other times I'm afraid the people on here will change my ideologically. I just need to not worry about that.
