how does God fight our battles?

I've heard this quite a bit. How does God fight our battles and what is our part?

Interesting question.

Perhaps the question is:

Do we believe that He does?

Thank you kindly.

(There are at least two verses that come to mind. I will post them if you would like me to.)

There are angels assigned to us that have been there since day one armed and ready to fight the enemy on our behalf. You have to open your mouth and declare power and authority over your enemies and the devil and they go out and do exactly as you say. God will even assign as many as 10,000 angels if you so declare it. It's not a problem on his end. The problem many people have is they pray one way but speak completely different in their daily lives. The power of life and death is in the tongue and God gave us all personal accountability to use the knowledge and power he gave us for our benefit. If you do not, then you will not a victorious life and continually let the enemy beat you down.

Good post agman... yes, there are angels watching over us but they are inactive (unless) we walk and speak in faith. We can even tie the hands of God in our lives if we operate in doubt and unbelief. There are a lot of Christians walking around with angels with nothing to do. As you say, "they are armed and ready to work on our behalf." ... to ensure a victorious and prosperous life for us so we who are BLESSED can help others in their needs.

Welcome...

I've heard this quite a bit. How does God fight our battles and what is our part?

There is only ONE way that God WILL fight the battles for us is by our fight of faith, and that is where (our part) comes in to play. As (1 Tim. 6:12) says, "We are to fight the GOOD fight of faith." In (2 Tim. 4:7) Paul said, "I have fought the GOOD fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith." We are to exercise our faith, simply believe... and rest in Him. We know that fighting is usually always bad. But with God we are in the GOOD fight of faith. And our (only) fight is to Only Believe. However, if we're operating in doubt and unbelief, we will receive NOTHING from God and lose every battle.

EVERYTHING, you need from God, (Matt. 9:29) "shall be done to you according to your faith." And in (Heb. 11:6), Paul says "...without faith it is impossible to please God." And He will fight (ALL) of our battles... if we just act and (believe) in His Word by fighting the good fight of faith and enter into His Rest. It's ALL about FAITH and resting in His word. There are enemies in this (fight of faith) which we are instructed to fight. If there were no enemies or hindrances to faith, such as doubt and unbelief, there would be no fight to it. The fight of faith is just acting on God's Word (Smith Wigglesworth).

Kenneth E. Hagin once said, "The greatest weapon you possess to fight the good fight of faith is to BELIEVE in His Word and what you believe affects what you receive. So the only way God will fight our battles is (for us) to fight the good fight of FAITH and turn it over to Him and enter into His rest. When we do that, we let God fight our battles and then (stay out) of His way so he can perform His Word... (Jeremiah 1:12) says, "I will watch over my word to perform it."busy[1].gif

God has given us tools to fight with.

The truth of his word tells us how.

Where most people lose the battle as well as the war is the failure to realize that the battle field is the mind.

that is where we make the decisions and do the things that lead to victory or defeat.
2 Cor 10:5

A big Amen on the tools... Your response is excellent for teaching purposes.

Ephesians 6:10-18
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having on the (Belt of truth), and having on the (breastplate of righteousness);

15 And your (feet) shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 "Above all", taking the (shield of faith), wherewith ye shall be able to quench ALL the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the (helmet of salvation), and the (sword of the Spirit), which is the word of God:

18 (Praying) always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Putting on the (whole armor of God) is preparing for the (good fight of faith). We are fighting a spiritual battle (Eph 6:12). We must have God's armor to (defend) ourselves. The armor of God doesn't protect us automatically; we have to apply and stand in faith (believing). That's what Paul was referring to here by saying we must do all to stand (v13-14).

With All of this armor being "put on"... and other powerful tools such as praise and worship... victory can ONLY be accomplished by acting on your faith (Wigglesworth, Hagin Sr). We agree the battlefield is the mind. We ARE to renew our minds with the Word of God (Romans 12:2).

Your scripture Optimax... hit the nail on the head in (2 Cor. 10:5) that you quoted. And when WE do these things... God fights our battles and will WIN everyone we face. If we (work) he rests. If we (rest) he works for us.coffee1_zps2dde4710[1].gif

God already has fought our battles, the battle IS won we just have to believe that.

We need to walk by faith, not by sight. Sad, but true... Most Christians operate more in the flesh then they do in the spirit and in many areas of life they are walking in doubt and unbelief and are losing their battles. Their minds ( the battleground) have never been renewed with the Word of God, and they don't know that Jesus already has won the battle. They don't know the devil is a defeated foe. They still are trying to fight him in their (own) power, and some have fought until they are totally exhausted and depleted.

Also some Christians TRY... to believe, and it is such a struggle for them. They say they are "trying to have faith," or "trying to believe." (I know, been there done that for years). I have learned that All that is necessary, however, is to ACT on what God says in His Word. If we know the Word of God is true and act on it, then it becomes a reality in our lives. Real faith is a product of the knowledge of the Word. It's not struggling, laboring, and trying to believe that brings results. It's acting in faith (believing) on God's Word that brings results. I like using the term... "daring to believe." Just stand and rest in His Word.coffee1_zps2dde4710[1].gif

God fights our battles with us when we are obedient/faithful, check out what happens when we do our own thing in Joshua 7. I'm not sure He fights our battles for us, it doesn't appear to be His way. We always seem to have a part to play. I believe Matthew:5.14 alongside Joshua, how God spoke to him and directed him, his obedience and the faith of those he was leading is so relevant for us today. Standing together as one in the name of Jesus with faith in Him we can bring walls down and I have a very good feeling that it exactly what is going to happen big style :)

Matthew: 5. 14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Matthew: 5. 14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Through the years, Kenneth Hagin said he had the greatest time in the world putting the LORD to work (for him) — just letting Him and His Word do the work. There is a Scripture which says, ''the (battle) is the Lord's" 1 Samuel 17:47.

And this...

2 Chronicles 20:15 says, "...be not afraid nor dismayed... for the (battle) is not yours, but God's." When I put God's Word to work for me (Hagin) said. The Word fights my (battles) for me. Hagin says he's never been in a (battle) since he has been saved more than 50 years. Since he learned about faith, and that the Bible says, "For we which have believed do enter into rest..." Hebrews 4:3, and that he has been in a state of rest all those years. He has simply put God's Word to work for him.

So what do we rest from? All worry, fear, anxiety, doubt and unbelief. Exercising faith in His Word ALWAYS has a good report when your "casting ALL your cares upon Him..." 1 Peter 5:7.

I love what Jeremiah 1:12 says, "I will hasten my Word to perform it." Get this, God is actually watching over His Word and "anxiously" waiting for "someone" (ANYONE!) to speak in faith so He can perform it in their behalf. That is amazing.

Your absolutely right about we have to do our part... which is... exercising your faith and acting on the Word and equality important... is to TRUST God to do the work... which includes fighting our battles. Just dare to believe, stand..! And rest in His Word.

Receiving this is the problem with most Christians. And Satan can STILL function and win battles over us IF we (give him) the authority to do by how WE speak, or don't speak the Word in the battles. We still have to keep our (minds renewed) with the Word of God since (that is where the battle is).

This has been shared before but the only FIGHT that we need to do is, "fight the good fight of faith"1 Timothy 6:12. and to "put on the whole armor of God and be strong in the Lord in the power of His might" Ephesians 6:10-18.

If we let God fight our battles, then we can "rest" in Him with praise and worship for his GRACE shinning through, yet once again in WHATEVER were going through.busy[1].gif

I've heard this quite a bit. How does God fight our battles and what is our part?

SCRIPTURE FOUNDATION
For me the solution to each situation has to be built freshly on scripture. I can't live on the last victory the Lord gave me. I have to start fresh with scripture to find out: What does God say He'll do this time? What does He say He wants me to do this time? Here's some good examples of some scriptures I use to build a fresh foundation of KNOWING God will fight THIS battle for me just as He fought the many previous battles for me:

1. "But Moses answered, “Don’t be afraid! Stand still and you will see the Lord save you today. You will never see these Egyptians again after today. 14 You only need to remain ·calm [or still]; the Lord will fight for you [15:3]." - Exodus 14:13-14

2. "The Lord your God will go ahead of you and fight for you as he did in Egypt; ·you saw him do it [before your eyes]." - Deuteronomy 1:30

3. "Don’t be afraid of them, because the Lord your God will fight for you." - Deuteronomy 3:22

4. "The Lord your God goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies and to ·save you [give you the victory]." - Deuteronomy 20:4

5. "But [on that day] the Lord thundered against them with ·loud thunder [a loud voice]. They were ·so frightened they became confused. So [… thrown into such a panic that] the Israelites ·defeated [routed] the Philistines in battle." - 1 Samuel 7:10

6. "The battle ·belongs to him [is the Lord’s], and he will ·hand you over to us [give you into our hands]." - 1 Samuel 17:47

7. "The Lord says this [Thus says the Lord] to you: ‘Don’t be afraid or ·discouraged [dismayed] because of this ·large army [vast horde; great multitude]. The battle is not your battle, it is God’s." - 2 Chronicles 20:15

8. "You won’t need to fight in this battle. Just ·stand strong in your places [take your positions], and you will see the ·Lord save you [salvation/deliverance/rescue of the Lord]. Judah and Jerusalem, don’t be afraid or ·discouraged [dismayed], because the Lord is with you. So go out ·against those people [to face them] tomorrow." - 2 Chronicles 20:17

9. "Who is this ·glorious King [King of glory]? The Lord, strong and mighty. The Lord, ·the powerful warrior [mighty in battle]." - Psalm 24:8

10. "You can get the horses ready for the day of battle, but it is the Lord who gives the victory [Ps. 33:16–17]." - Proverbs 21:31

GOD'S PART
God is the one who'll intervene in what ever way He chooses to fight the battle and give me the victory. It's His power that changes situations, hearts, and behaviors by inspiring, convicting, or doing miracles. It's quite amazing to watch God work in a situation.

I now see every situation as an opportunity to watch how the power of God's love and ability will "SOZO" me (strongs G4982- save heal deliver preserve rescue): "Jesus answered, “It is not this man’s sin or his parents’ sin that made him blind. This man was born blind so that God’s ·power [works] could be ·shown [displayed; revealed; manifest] in him." - John 9:3

MY PART
I need to believe He'll do what He promises. When I think about the situation I need to imagine how the outcome would look if God fought the battle.

I need to ask God what He wants me to think, imagine, do, or say. Then I need to agree and conform.

If I'm having trouble doing my part, I need to ask God to help me do my part.

Sometimes my part is doing something or saying something, but I have to make sure I FIRST KNOW God will fight for me.

IOW, it's not good for me to run around doing and saying things if I'm not convinced about God's part.

Usually when I'm convinced about God's part, there's very little for me to do, but whatever I do do is automatically with strong faith, because I KNOW God always succeeds:

"FAITH (a conviction that God exists and is the Creator and Ruler of all things, the Provider and Bestower of eternal salvation through Christ, and a leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness)." - Hebrews 13:7

How many times do we look to God and ask why things have gone wrong when we were sure it was His Will? The truth is a simple fact, they haven't gone wrong, it's our perception of it that is wrong. The King nailed to a cross was not Gods Will gone wrong! The world of course will continue to perceive it that way and the accuser will always try to use our "failures" to undermine our faith. God is always on our side and does not have an issue with us fighting any battle that we believe in. We are more than conquerors. We never fail we just learn and can be thankful in all circumstances, a massive "failure" is a massive opportunity for God to take us further. Standing still will leave us stood still. If we truly want to know how God fights for us we simply need get out and fight, taking a few knocks is just part of learning to hit harder next time.

I've heard this quite a bit. How does God fight our battles and what is our part?

How does God fight our battles? Answer, you will never be able to figure that out. God has so many ways to work out a situation on your behalf. Remember he has access to everyone on this earth; therefore, you would never have anyway way of knowing what he was up to in each one of those persons lives to get your particular situation solved. Your job is to just trust him, read his word, focus your attention upon him, his kingdom & keep in first place in your life and allow him to lead you and be obedient when he tells you to move. In all actuality he your problem is already solved you just haven't seen the final result yet.

Secondly he doesn't want you to focus on how he's going to fight your battles because then you're just focusing on your problems and you're just focusing on what he's going to do for you. A selfish need! I understand that you're not being selfish you just worried about your problem at that moment, I get that.

Remember the more you focus on something the more you will become consumed by it. So the more you focus on how he's going to fight your battle is the more you're going to be focused on the battle.

Instead we are going to get dressed in the full armor of God daily, instead we are going to walk in Colossians 3:8-17 and we are going to have compassion, kindness, meekness, display forgiveness, we are going to bind it all up with love. We Will be clothed daily in the full armor of God and we will walk by faith despite what we see, feel, hear, or sense, we're going to walk in faith. We are going to trust God despite.

That's what we're going to do while he fight our battles.
