hates the sin?

Or God loves the child of God and hates the worker of iniquity?

God hates all workers of iniquity..and is angry with the wicked everyday. Psalm 7:11

As long as one is "practicing" a lifestyle of sin...he/she remains or becomes and enemy of God. Once that person repents..(forsakes that practice of sin) then they may receive favor of the Lord and prevent his wrath from falling upon them.

Assuming that your assertion is accurate (whether I agree with it or not), does this not mean that anyone practicing any lifestyle of sin is an enemy of God? Liars, cheats, drunkards, those with hatred in their hearts, tax evaders...the list goes on?

If that is also true, why are we so tied up with this one sin?

Sure.

Most of the others you mentioned don't have nearly as effective or prominent political and social organizations promoting them.

When I think this way, I sometimes ask myself, "was the prodigal son an 'enemy' of his father while he was practicing a lifestyle of sin?" God loves us and wants us to move away from any barrier that can stand in the way of that connection. I have a feeling that there are a lot of very good God/person relationships that I might judge otherwise at first glance. And plenty of seemingly righteous people in the most conventional of lifestyles with severely damaged relationships with God.

Another aspect to this subject though is…… to what degree are we Christians proud?

Do we feel superior to homosexuals?

Or do we regard our own pride and self-righteousness as a type of sin that is equally repulsive to G-d?

Back in 1988…. my church…. and I myself…… were both seriously into spiritual pride!

God's many plans for the Gay community???????
I am pretty sure it is over five years since I read the NDE of Mr. Christian Andreason. His NDE account has had a major impact on my life.

As a former follower of Mr. Garner Ted Armstrong and his dad Mr. Herbert Armstong I must admit that these statements put me into some serious cognitive dissonance at first!!!!??

.near-death.com/andreason.html#a11

"What about sexually diverse people?

If this world was to ever find out just a small amount of what sexually diverse (gay) people are here to do on this planet, there would never be one single wisecrack or hurtful remark made ever again. Instead there would be great respect! People who speak disrespectful things about people of this orientation ... enact judgment, and do so from a place of unenlightenment, insecurity, ego and socially induced prejudice. Some may use mistranslated scriptures taught to them, not by the Holy Spirit ... but by fear-filled human beings. Many will choose to sustain a Divinely unsupported satanic hate-based rage against these children of God, rather than using Love to bring understanding and healing between both peoples. Christ said, THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT IS THAT WE ARE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER! When people sling condemnation, judgment and bitterness at others, they are not practicing the great commandment. They are allowing their Souls to fall into darkness."
Five or six years later on and finally I feel confident enough to go into specifics as to what I strongly suspect are a few of the actual plans that the God of Abraham, the Creator of heaven and earth has in mind for the Gay community!!!!

My stance on this issue is that God has called us to love everyone, but that does not mean we have to approve of the sins each individual chooses to commit.

We cannot continue to love condoning their sexual behavior!

You misunderstand my post...I meant that just because we love them and respect them as human beings does not mean we have to approve of what they do. We can love others while still condemning the sin in their lives.

Do you continue to love them when they continue to lead a sinful life deliberately without making any effort to give up nor admitting that it is sinful and deserves condemnation?

Keep in mind that Psalm was written by a Bronze Age man around 1000 BC, centuries before Jesus. A big point Jesus made is that God loves sinners. Jesus wasn't afraid to correct the religious perceptions of the day, even if they were based on quoted Scriptures.

As long as one is "practicing" a lifestyle of sin...he/she remains or becomes and enemy of God. Once that person repents..(forsakes that practice of sin) then they may receive favor of the Lord and prevent his wrath from falling upon them.

I've already talked about that sort of thing on another part of the forum- we don't have to live sinless lives to find justification with God. That's why Jesus was our sacrifice.

You call gays " enemies of God ". Do you know what that might lead to ? Do you know what the nonsense that you just said can do to others ?

Calling someone is " God's enemy " is not easy simple thing. People can lose their lives because of that nonsense. How many innocents were killed because they are called by ignorant people " God's enemies ". We Christians are called " God's enemies " by ISIS and the like, and surely you know what that lead to.

Lord have mercy.

God loves us all.....and wants us to change. He would rather that NONE of us perish. We all have things we struggle with in our lives that need fixing. We all have our "crosses to bear". Ultimately it is our decision, each individual will be responsible for their own thoughts, words, actions. God did not make automatons, he made people with a will to do right OR wrong. He told us the way many times through his patriarchs and prophets and even sent his son to tell and show us in person. The rest is up to us. If we miss out, it is our fault. Like your doctor telling you "this is what you have to do to overcome diabetes or hypertension, God has given us the "prescription" for eternal life. The rest is up to us. If we miss it, we have ourselves to blame.
