WHAT were they thinking?! This is a horrible apostasy and heresy.

A passage from the Koran that denies one of the central tenets of the Christian faith was sung aloud at a cathedral service in Scotland.

The passage from Surah 19, which specifically denies that Jesus was the Son of God and says He should not be worshiped, was sung during a Eucharist service at St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Glasgow to mark the feast of the Epiphany.

A video of the recital was posted on YouTube showing a girl singing the passage in a typical Islamic style. It narrates the Islamic account of the birth of Jesus, which includes the claim that Mary was “ashamed” after giving birth, and the infant Christ miraculously spoke from the cradle – something not found in Christian scripture.

She then concludes by singing verse 35, which states in translation: “It befitteth not the Majesty of Allah that He should take unto Himself a son,” and then verse 36, which has the infant Jesus saying: “And lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. That is the right path.” story

Hi FBA,

You might also be interested in knowing that the episcopalian denomination was also the spawning ground of John Shelby Spong. Can't imagine after that, that anything would be much of a surprise as some godless belief being heralded among their fellowships. Mr. Spong made it all the way to being a bishop in the denomination and yet denies pretty much everything in the Scriptures that might have even the hint of the miraculous. Yet, they continue to gather each Sunday as a fellowship of believers. I can't even imagine that a fellowship of God's children would even think to entertain such a man as John Shelby Spong as a leader in their group.

God bless you,
In Christ, ted

Note that this was the Scottish Episcopal Church and not the ECUSA. The two are related, being members of the Anglican Communion, but different entities.

Yes that is true, however the ECUSA isn't too far behind in this regard. It's ironic, those who support Open Communion are most likely to deny Jesus in hopes of False Ecumenism.
