In Revelation 20, Satan is locked up immediately following Armageddon. He remains locked up in the Abyss throughout the thousand years, while the resurrected saints reign. After the thousand years, Satan is released for a short time to lead Gog/Magog against "the camp of God’s people, the city he loves."

Those of you that consider the thousand years figurative for the past 2,000 years, do you also believe that Satan has been locked up in the Abyss all this time?

I have seen and heard way too much to know for sure that satan is in no way locked up. This boogy man is real and active and is always looking for a victim, one of which was a friend of mine, but i'll just leave it there I think.

I have always read that the Gog-Magog thing was after the coming 1000 yrs so I'm not sure why people believe differently , I guess they will let you know.

Satan was in the garden of Eden many millions of years ago and continues to deceive and tempt people today - So NO - He has NOT been locked up for 2000, 20,000, or even 2 million years, since he was kicked out of Heaven.

yes ... i DO believe he's been bound for the last two thousand yrs ... his spirit runs the earth ... the same as the Holy Spirit ... might not see him, but he's there ... the mind is the battlefield ...

he will be loosed before Christ comes ...

was sitting here thinking about this thread ... and how it's one of my 'pet' subjects ... and had another thought ...

if he were loosed down here running around physcially ... where is he ... one should be able to point to a 2000 yr old man ... or to his grave somewhere ... cuz surely if he were buried somewhere someone would have found it ... i.e. no command that it not be found ... or something like that ... and then he would be of no harm lying in the ground, anyway ... waiting for ? ... to be loosed another little season from the ground ?? cuz what else would he be doing if he were a physcial entity during this time ... this time of 2000 yrs ... it's flesh or spirit ... none others, i know of ... can't say he hops from soul to soul as one passes on ... just hop to another ... like in reincarnation ... doesn't happen ... not in that manner, ever ... even with the betrayal of Christ he was a spirit that entered ... he didn't come in person ...

I don't think of Satan as one man walking around the earth today, but I think he influences any number of men today (1 Peter 5:8). When he is bound for the thousand years, I don't think he will have any influence on mankind, until he is unbound at the end of the thousand years.

I still speak and do acts according to Satan, How is he locked up if he lives in me?

Satan currently accuses the brethren (believers in Christ) before God in heaven (Rev 12) and roams the earth for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit, power to overcome the devil. (Luke 10:19)

The devil will soon be cast to the earth (Rev 12) for just over 3 1/2 years, (Rev 12,13) then he will be bound in an abyss. (Rev 20)

Satan locked up at the Cross, but God didn't throw the key away. He's going to be released as we're all aware. What appears is that we're not all aware that Satan is forced to work thru the antichristian agencies now. Just who are these agencies, back to the drawing board.

He ministers through the two beasts in Rev.13:1-18. However if he knocks on your door, don't answer nor open your door.
