A chunk of the sun is missing and heading toward earth at 2 million miles per hour. It’s an astonishing 80 times bigger than earth. Scientists are baffled by the recent activity, warning us a global blackout could occur. Although no timetable was given on the arrival of this solar flare, actions like this make me wonder if their hiding something.

The meteorologist said this happens all the time. Said when it 'hits our planet' it will cause auroras' wiggle the magnetic field and the thing to worry about is communication interruption, GPS, things from satellites, etc. He also said this is a small or minor one. That we've known this to be happening because of the damage it caused but we now have the technology to see the sun in this kind of image that shows us how it happens and can be alerted beforehand.
"This is what the sun does all the time but we really don't know why it does it.There is an eleven year cycle of activity and we are heading into the time of peak activity."
He said there was a giant solar flare in 1962 right before we had a lot of satellites and an even bigger one in 1959, and if something like that happened again that could cause a GLOBAL BLACKOUT.
He didn't say anything about turning anything off, but If you got bills due on the 1st and you pay on your PC then I would say, do it today, just in case the internet is fussy. And if you are going on a trip, take a map, don't rely on GPS.
