The first time I was in Dublin for Great and Holy Week , I went to see the Book of Kells in TCD [ always abbreviated - in full -Trinity College Dublin ]. Absolutely fascinating.

The Illustrations are so beautiful and the colours are magnificent. If you get a chance to see it - do go

Medicine :) What do you do in life?

I'm a low paid Civil Servant in the Department of Education. I do security part-time hence my presence at the Trinity Balls...;)

I enjoy the CS, though the current strife over Croke Park II could end ugly for us Clerical Officers. Time will tell.

Have you been 'in the field' yet? If so, what hospitals...?

There's a great Song by Iona that was inspired by the Book of Kells. Appropriate for St. Patrick's Day to be sure

.. Celtic Christianity, the Book of Kells as introduced by the band Iona when I worked in CCM radio is one of the big steps in my journey to Orthodoxy.
I know.. that's a bit strange but it is what it is..

I had always loved the band Iona and was really excited when I went to Dublin for our family reunion to actually view the Book of Kells on multiple days. I have it on CD. Amazing how when Europe went dark the Irish and Scots kept the flame of Christ burning bright for the spread of the Gospel.
