If he was actually calling Obama his lord and savior (in a literal sense) then Ann Coulter was actually wishing for the death of the New York Times staff (in a literal sense). Can't have it both ways...

Who brought up Ann Coulter? Do you think they baptize in the name of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama?

Nobody. But when liberals mention Coulters comments, conservatives often respond with "Oh, she's joking" or "It's just satire." I'm just pointing out that it works both ways.

I'm a Muslim and I would like to clarify a few things that have been posted either in writing or in the video that has been posted here as well.

First off, I do not know if Obama is Muslim or not, from what I have observed of him and what he has said, I'm thinking he is not a Muslim. But God knows best. Either way, there is nothing in the US Constitution that would prohibit him from being a Muslim and President of the United States.

As a Muslim, if I were President of the United States, I would not have any problem taking the oath of office. As a Muslim, I would take that oath very seriously because I know on the day of judgment I'll be asked about not only my actions but the actions of everyone under my command that I governed (civilian and military). I from what I have seen would not want to be in Obama's shoes on the day of judgement because I personally think he is violating the oath every day and allowing it to be violated by everyone under his leadership. This is my opinion.

As a Muslim, our prophet Muhammad prohibited us from standing when he stood up, prohibited us from bowing to anyone other than God, and other such actions. For Obama to bow, to anyone king or not, Muslim or not, is a violation of Islamic Law and borders if not crosses the line of committing shirk (association of partners with God) and even if he were Muslim, that is serious enough under Islamic Law that that action alone could remove him from being a Muslim and he would have to pray to God for repentance and then re-enter Islam by taking his shahadah (testimony of faith) which he "bears witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except God, and that Muhammad is the slave and messenger of God".

Most of what was said in the video are facts that can be verified historically and there is nothing that would indicate he was a Muslim by recounting Islam's contributions to science, history etc, and I have heard non-Muslims say similar things who have remained non-Muslims and were never Muslims before they said them. Therefore those statements do not constitute him being Muslim. If this constitutes defending Islam then so be it, but as a Muslim, I have defended Judaism, various sects of Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Wicca and other religions from inaccurate statements made about them where I knew the view expressed was not true. Does my defense of the correct beliefs and histories about these other religions that are different than my own make me an adherent to those religions? I think not. Rather I'm standing for truth to make sure that accurate history and religious beliefs are not misrepresented by misunderstandings by (hopefully) well meaning persons who simply had the wrong understanding about them or had learned their information from inaccurate sources.

Having Muslims in one's family does not make you Muslim by default. I'm Muslim, my mom is Muslim, and my grandma is Muslim, my mom's sister and her family are Christian, and my grandpa died non-Muslim before my Grandma accepted Islam and after I had been Muslim for several years. Also in regards to that statement on the video of "I am one of them." which the editor of the video types in within quotes at the end of the video, was immediately preceded by Obama saying "many Americans have Muslims in their families, I am one of them" (or something like that) so it by itself doesn't constitute a confession of being Muslim himself, only that he has Muslims in his family. If his father is from Kenya, I can understand him having Muslims in his family, and I have a Christian friend that has gone to Indonesia, things the people are beautiful, and enjoys listening to the athan (call to pray) (Obama did mispronounce that btw) and he is to this day still a christian so what he finds beautiful or where he has visited does not make him a Muslim by default.

As far as greeting people with "salaam 'alaykum" this is used by Jews in Arabic speaking countries and everywhere by Jews as "shalom alaykhum", It was used in Aramaic by Jesus in John 20:21 and John 20:26. which in Aramaic sounds identical to Arabic. So that greeting is not exclusively used by Muslims.

The video states "that Obama wears traditional Muslim garb" which is not actually correct. That is African garb that is within Islamic rules of proper dress...although his wife is not properly dressed in the picture used to illustrated that from an Islamic perspective. However I had never heard of such a thing as a "taqiyah kufi". No clue where that came from, I have been Muslim since February 1, 1995 and have been in several different Muslim communities in KS, OK, IL, GA, TX and AR and I have never once heard of such a thing until I ran across this site. I did look and you will find it used by Muslims. However a kufi is from the Arabic language (and it's called a topi in Urdu which you will find more commonly used by Muslims from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and that part of the world) and it is the Muslim version of a yamika worn by our cousins, the Jews. Ours is bigger than the Jewish version (still not sure why that is but something I'm intending to research one of these days to find out how that happened). Also, unlike Judaism, Muslim men are not required to have our heads covered when we pray, unlike in traditional Judaism. (Usually Jewish law is stricter than Islamic law, although both are very similar to each other). However men covering their heads is preferred.

I object to the footage of the planes hitting the twin towers, as I am fairly confident that Obama was not involved in that, plus that happened during Bush's term in office, not Obama's. That has nothing to do with Obama at all and should not have been included. Further many Muslims have openly spoken out and condemned that (unfortunately they don't get much media attention and are usually told by news agencies that it is not newsworthy). Islam itself has strict rules concerning warfare and the killing of non-combatants is strictly prohibited. In addition, a warning must be given three times to those who would be put in danger of an attack prior to attacking, and the killing of a Muslim by another Muslim is strictly prohibited as well and Muslims did die in the twin towers, on the hijacked planes (who were not hijackers and did not know the hijackers), as well as Muslims who worked in the fire and EMS rescue teams who were also killed in the tower's collapse. In spite of what may be said in the media, ANY act of terrorism is NOT in line with Islam. There may be people who claim to do what they do in the name of Allah and commit horrific acts, but they tell a lie against Allah and will have to answer for it on the Day of Judgement. If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns, I'll be happy to answer them. Just send me an email.

Again, I don't know if Obama is Muslim or not, personally I don't care either way, but he from what I can see does not practice Islam in his actions or how he carries himself. I'll admit there are people who do not practice what their religion teaches found in every religion on earth. No religion can claim 100% perfect obedience by all of its followers. But if he is Muslim, he is not our best example, but I haven't seen any evidence to say with certainty that he is a Muslim. The only thing I can state that would come close is Obama's comment on the video "my Muslim faith" but I would like to have seen and heard what he said before that to see if it was taken out of context or not before I made any judgement, since it was clipped down to just that phrase (which is not even a whole sentence) I'm suspicious that it is out of context and does not constitute a confession of adherence to the Islamic faith on his part.

What did Chris Rock say a few days ago?

“I am just here to support the President of the United States. The President of the United States is, y’know, our boss. But he’s also, y’know, the president and the first lady are kind of like the mom and the dad of the country. And when your dad says something, you listen. And when you don’t, it usually bites you in the [butt] later on.”

Oh my.

Are people really so ignorant that they think the president is our boss?
So your only point is that Chris Rock is ignorant because he said the President of the United States is our boss?

He is a comedian and an actor. Since when did we start caring about what these people say?

He wasn't acting in the role of a comedian or an actor he was endorsing gun control and apparently Obama is our dad and we should listen to him like he's our dad.

It's just hilariously sad.

So, he is still a comedian and actor regardless of the tone or venue.

You got it backwards. Rock said Obama was kinda like our dad and we should listen to him. Do you agree with Rock? I don't think Obama is like my dad and Rock has his opinion just as we have ours. Should we clog this forum with EVERY stupid thing said by others?

It's just hilariously sad.
To you, it probably is. The question I want to know is how doe this relate to the OP talking about Obama being a messiah? Are you making a comparison based on color of skin, occupation, and common person of discussion? Rock never claimed Obama is a messiah.

So he was invited to Capital Hill to tell jokes and act? Funny none of the articles say that wonder why?

When that person is looked to by the administration for his opinion on important issues you don't think it matters what he has to say?

It's another moronic subservient comment by a democrat about the president. Why make a thread about it when there's already a thread talking about moronic subservient things said about the president by democrats?
