What is that supposed to mean?
If you were under the impression something is a gift and the person intended it to be loan if it is not WRITTEN one way or the other it is assumed to be a loan by law and so if that person came back to sue you you would MORE THAN LIKELY be on the hook, even if you didn't have a dime to your name and it meant you would be kicked out of the house.

Yea that kind of legal stuff is for people who actually have the money to sue people. No one I know does, so I feel pretty safe lol

I don't think most people who get food stamps have credit cards because most credit cards have income requirements. That's not even taking into consideration that a lot of people on public assistance do have bad credit. If they're very very lucky they have no credit.

However, have you ever seen a debit card? It looks like - guess what? A credit card. Have you seen a Walmart or an American Express money card? They look like - guess what? Credit cards. And just because I know someone will ask - the Walmart money card and the American Express money card work like a debit card. You put money on it. It costs something (don't know what). You can't overdraw it like you can a bank account. Once you're out of money - you're all done. They're for people who can't have bank accounts for whatever reason - usually because they've screwed up multiple accounts.

that kind of legal stuff applies to anyone. They can sue you for the value of something even if they had it before going downhill.

I don't get many gifts either, my friend. The point really is moot. I fend for myself, take care of myself, and with the exception of a few select angels who have blessed me with some money but even more gratitude, I provide for myself.

Oh yea, and my debit card says VISA on it. The card for my bank, which needs funds in it for me to use said card.

Between my touchscreen phone (which I got for free) and my VISA debit card, your judgment would be all over me as an abuser if you saw ME in the grocery store using my food stamps card.

yeah I know they look the same, except you can not overdraw a debit account. I didn't know credit cards people had before getting on public assistance. Since I do not have one and am in no hurry to get one. Some of the cards are re-loadable and know because when my sister went on her mission trip our parents gave her one of those re-loadable cards from the bank.

If a person had credit cards before needing assistance and chooses to max them out after, they are just stupid.

Do you understand that the majority of people on assistance are only on food stamps and not cash? Do you understand that the majority of people on food stamps are hardworking, HONEST people who only use the system because they HAVE to?

Until you understand those two FACTS, facts that won't be presented to you by any conservative or republican news source, you will have no possibility of ever effecting change.

No one WANTS welfare.

No one WANTS a life where they are put under a microscope, have to deal with negligent caseworkers, and often miss out on benefits they DESPERATELY need because of those negligent caseworkers.

No one wants a life where the slightest drop in income could mean living on the streets.

No one wants a life where they can't even pay for MUSIC lessons or SOCCER or KARATE for their child because they are too poor.

My daughter has been begging me for a YEAR to put her in Karate. She wants it so bad, and it costs A THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR to put her in classes. I can't afford it on my income, and it breaks my heart.

No one WANTS this.

If you can't understand that by now, after talking to me for nearly NINE HUNDRED POSTS, I don't know what else to say.

How much income can they have because I would think that the more income you had you wouldn't need welfare and therefore would not be living on the streets? Also the fact is fair or not the abusers ( no matter how many there are is what what gives the system its bad name.)
