Yes, my thread title is a pun on "Mission Impossible".

The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center has taken Mr. Romney at his word and put his tax plan into action through various simulations. Even under the most favorable conditions his tax plan is mathematically impossible. Note that I do not mean 'improbable' which implies that there is a possibility it might work, I mean 'impossible' which excludes any possibility it could work - even under the most wildly ridiculous, favorable circumstances.

Its a faith-based tax plan. Don't worry about it. We will all be allowed to have everything we want.

I didn't realize allowing people to keep their own money was considered a cost.

You have a car. Your car needs to be detailed. You bring it to me to detail it. We agree you will pay me $50 to detail your car. I detail your car. You are happy with the job. I waive the $50 fee.

So, in your mind, it did not cost me to waive the $50 fee? It didn't cost me time, effort, or material resources? It did not cost me at all to be compensated?

Your country does the same thing I, in my capacity as the example car detailer, did; however, it does it on a much larger scale. Taxes are a means of revenue in which we pay our country for the services it provides us; services such as: national defense, representation in government, and so forth.

You realize that when the government figures it's budget, they figure on all GDP, and then count what they "let us keep" as a "cost" right?

Because our government is run like a business and they have to account for all revenue... like a business? :sput:

No, I did not know that. Please, tell me more? :nowords:

It's the GOP's most Biblical budget plan -- They're expecting God to reward them with money from heaven.

Perhaps that's what they mean by trickle-down economics?

You forgot to mention other people's housing/shelter, food, iPhone, internet, car, education, vacation, doctor's bills, flat panel LCD's, etc. Roads, bridges, water, and electricity have been relegated to stimulus packages.

Oh, so you are one of those that thinks that if a family can afford to buy a phone and a refrigerator they are not "poor"?

But you never mention red tape, and waste. The more government we get the more that comes with it as well as less freedom. I don't have faith in the all mighty government.

The money does come from somewhere like social security, medicare the stimulus and it gets spent other things that it was never intended to be spent on.
