Vatican Order Crack Down on US Nuns

The Vatican has ordered a crackdown on a group of American nuns that it considers too radical.
It says the group is undermining Roman Catholic teaching on homosexuality and is promoting "feminist themes incompatible with the Catholic faith".
The Leadership Conference of Women Religious is the largest organisation of Catholic nuns in the US.

The word Nun isn't Biblican and the word Priest is. I'm not a Catholic but I have witnessed many good works by humble Nuns and heard of some not so Biblical things done by Priest.. I hope these Nuns would teach to love the homosexual but hate the sin. And we know Jesus didn't come seekng believers but un-believers, he visied folks that embaressed His followers. When you give a person understanding and love when they havent seen it before, it has far reaching effects.

Basically if the word nun is used only for good, then perhaps they weren't behaving nun like.

The word "nun" comes from "nona," the Italian word for grandmother. I heard that in a sermon once.

In medieval times, widowed women whose children were grown sometimes became sisters, and in more recent centuries many even founded orders (Elizabeth Ann Seton, for example).

The older women with grown children who become sisters today are following a time-honored tradition. Vocations don't always come at age 20. They can come at age 30, or 40, or 50. My friend's mom entered the convent when she was 59 or so, and spent happy years in pastoral ministry and religious education (she died last year).

People wondering what “side” I am on should know that I distrust any story that runs on the cheap and inefficient fuel of emotionalism; they generally become all about sound, fury and heat and once that happens, the realities become victims to the distortions of agenda. Michie, a lot of things changed back in the 60's, more than just William Colulson and Carl Rogers. Men of all denominations suddnly found a way out of the war, going to school to be a Minister. I can't help but wounder if all those guys were called for the office or looking for a way out.
