Prayers for good weather

We could use some prayers for good weather tomorrow if anyone has room in their prayer list. My husband was due home Wednesday but bad weather has intervened. Today the plane was about to leave from the mainland when showers came over the island and ruined the runway - quite a letdown! Tomorrow their may be a window to get through but overall the whole week looks bad.

Not a life and death issue I know but we are getting anxious to see him.

Ha Ha. We are actually having quite a warm winter. We had a lovely snowfall for Christmas which has now melted.

It's just the bleepin' North Atlantic wind and rain that is an issue!

The last time we had snow in my town was in 1999 and we were just BLOWN AWAY! We all ran out in our yards and made snowmen and threw snowballs and were laughing and laughing. It was a freakishly uncommon thing for us. We have to drive way up into the mountains to get near snow in these parts. It tends to just stay around 50 to 60 degrees here in late Dec. and early Jan. The coldest it gets is maybe 48 degrees F. Doesn't rain much either. Dry and moderately cold. February is Tule fog time though....

I always picture Canada as snowy as heck, green and beautiful, humid and hot in the summer. I might be way off.

Canada is a big country, so it varies a lot. Some places are like ou describe.

We are in a coastal climate, so our summer is not as hot and our winter not so cold. January, February and even March are snowy, and it's pretty heavy, wet snow - it can be a lot more bone-chilling than the dry snow in the interior where it can get much colder. Here about -10 is the depths of winter, really cold, but in the prairies -30 isn't unheard of at all.

I don't think we get nearly the snow we did when I was a kid though, and I know it isn't as cold. In the first half of the 20th century we exported ice from our lakes, and these days they may not freeze over enough to skate on for more than a month or so.

Where dh is snow is unusual and there isn't much of it, and -3 or so is the lowest temp.

The wife, kids, and I just got back from San Diego yesterday. Hot, 85 degrees or so the other day when we were there, shorts and short sleeve shirt weather. The zoo was a kick...
