Please interpret my dream about a dog biting me

Hallo,
I feel God is wanting to tell me something through a dream I had this week. The reason I say so is, this dream is similar to one I had quite recently, and I am going through some personal issues at this time.
I woke up from this dream, "guessing" a couple of interpretations of it, and guess what, one week on, I have forgotten them! But I still remember the dream.

The gist of it being, a dog bit me and I had the strength to immediately open its jaws and thus detach myself from it. I knew it had bitten me but there was no pain. When I parted its jaws, I noticed it had no teeth!

I am anxious to know what it means, and that is why I logged on to these forums, the first I've done in probably 8 years ....

Hmmn... a dog with no teeth would definately struggle to eat and get sustenance, no wonder you were able to prise it's jaws open and there was no pain. Weak dog I'd say, toothless and therefore not much use either.

Usually dogs hang on tight and won't let you go, one that has let you go this easily probably wasn't right for you or meant to be. I'm guessing that this particular 'gummy canine' is symbolic of a recent relationship that didn't work out?

Find yourself a better dog, one who's teeth have been sharpened on the word of God. He won't let you go!

He was presenting general symbols. That is a strategy of interpretation that just happens to be static and He/she may not know this. For instance a black cat may mean good luck in one culture and bad luck in another. It is not the symbols of themselves unless they are archetypes that have a fairly circumscribed interpretation. To interpret your dreams involves a more cathartic analysis and reflection. I have done this as it is one of my gifts. You must go with your feelings though of course.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel this way Forkgirl, we are but mere mortals and thus prone to failings as the Bible suggests, so we don't always get it right I'm afraid.

A 'gist' of a dream is sometimes very hard to go on, so you are likely to get ideas and suggestions which may not fit with what you think the dream means or want/expect to hear, especially if the Lord hasn't given you any kind of interpretation.

I hope that there are others out there on CF or elsewhere who can resolve this for you.

What do you mean, if I'm a Christian? Yes, I am. I tried to help you, I cannot verify the validity of the interpretations I linked though.

I think of dogs as man's best friend -- intelligent, loyal, alert, protective, compassionate, always striving to bond, even to the point of being annoying.

When it's not your dog it might still be friendly with you, but will also be protective of its owner. The dog in your dream seemed to be owned by someone else, or an independent (wild) dog.
