I think that there is a better way.i have found that smoking marijuana has helped me with my anxiety problems, but being told that it is a sin has made me have these bad highs about it being a sin and that it makes the devil closer to you, but in the bible somewhere it says that God has given us a herb in which we can use? i see no harm in smoking marijuana, it makes me happy, but now i can't smoke and be happy, the thought of it being a sin makes me have a depressed high, can someone clear this up is it a sin is it not? why would it be grown if it is a sin? but i know your suppose to stay at a sober state of mind, but then why did God allow the use of wine during Christ' time? i have been told it is a sin and it is not a sin, why would it be a sin if its grown on earth which God created everything on earth.
1 Corinthians 10:23
"Everything is permissible"--but not everything is beneficial.
"Everything is permissible"--but not everything is constructive.
1 Corinthians 10:23
nothing wrong with drinking but getting drunk is wrong. So use of wine is fine but as they say in the classics in moderation.but i know your suppose to stay at a sober state of mind, but then why did God allow the use of wine during Christ' time? i have been told it is a sin and it is not a sin, why would it be a sin if its grown on earth which God created everything on earth.
There wer no such things as illegal drugs in the Us til after the Civil War.
the sin is not in the doing of the thing, but in letting it beome an obession that interferes with one's life. It is no more a sin than going to an all you can eat buffett.
Weed makes you see things?
So does the Holy Spirit! Which one are you going to choose? You can't serve two masters.
I don't even smoke weed its is illegal in the state and against federal laws. I did smoke weed from 11-12 to about 18 till someone told me that the bible says to obey the laws of the land then I stopped. And you know what I didn't wake up in the middle of the night sweating, shaking feeling like I'm going to die.
Now I serve two masters because I don't believe smoking weed is a sin? RRRRRIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTTT!? o_0
You saw my position on weed and you thought automatically this guy smokes weed. You guessed wrong now while I can't say I can find a scripture that says directly you shouldn't smoke weed I can find several on being judgmental. And that is what you did you judged my posts as a weed smoker and you were wrong.....Like the guy said God is the author of confusion and you seemed to be confused.
Yea it sure can,as well as hear things, also can make you paranoid,un-motivated,a thief, isolated, mood swings, etc etc.
I don't know how true that is. I smoke weed and have smoked weed since like I said I was about 12 years of age. I have never saw anything, heard anything nor felt paranoid or un-motivated. Not once in my entire life have I stolen anything from anybody and I have always got good grades my entire life. I failed one class in my entire life and that was in college. I know a lot of people that do smoke or have smoked and most of them are on their ways to become attorneys and or are hard workers. So I just can't see that when you look at the number of professionals that smoke it really is crazy. The fact is you won't get a job if you smoke weed at mcdonald's but you can get a job at a law firm or be an MD and have smoked before you got the jobs.
Also Avniel it is clear that God does not want his people intoxicated,Proverbs 20:1,21:17.
There are people that smoke weed and it has no affect on them. It's like smoking a cig but then there are people that smoke a blunt and they feel paranoid strange and they feel like their heart is beating fast. I have seen both occasions. I have a friend that smoked weed a few times but it has no affect on him at all.
There are more examples somewhere yet even if our Lord only says it once, once is enough.Just look at all the crime that comes from marijuana etc,the fact that it is a gateway drug etc it should be plain to see that God is against it.
Could you find me the scripture that states you should not smoke marijuana or the hebrew term for it and God saying that it is a sin. I do believe marijuana was around then and the hebrews had knowledge of it. So could you find that scripture for me?
It doesn't matter if it is legal in some places or if people have been smoking it for a long time, check out Romans 12:2,we are meant to stand out and not twist the word of God.God knew exactly how the Bible would be viewed and he knew how we would interpret it in this age,it is not complicated or hard to follow it is all very basic stuff(why would God make his laws/rules hard or complicated to follow?)so we would stuff up? obviously He wouldn't do that and hasn't.Its just some people don't want to sacrifice what they WANT to do and so compromise, while the majority know what the black and white truth says/means.
Its all very basic stuff.God loves us and is not out to confuse.Romans 8:5
Exactly It is very specific and there is no specific scripture that states you should not smoke weed.
For not smoking weed, you talk about it a lot. You strike me as one of the people who quit a drug, but are never really free from it. Otherwise known as a dry alcoholic. I'm not being judgmental. I'm a former drug user myself. Just my observations.
There are alot of things that scripture does not directly deal with. Yet christians seem to be sure of those beliefs. Why is it different with weed then in your view? You saw my position on weed and you thought automatically this guy smokes weed. You guessed wrong now while I can't say I can find a scripture that says directly you shouldn't smoke weed I can find several on being judgmental. And that is what you did you judged my posts as a weed smoker and you were wrong.....Like the guy said God is the author of confusion and you seemed to be confused.
Perhaps then you could explain why the scripture tells wives and husbands to submit to each other in love if as you claim the bible does not say that. All of a sudden there is this new ideology that husbands and wives both have to submit to each other and love each other as Christ loved the church. But the scripture says wives submit to your husbands and husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church.
