The topic of being overweight is sorta like religion. It gets put on a pedestal as something that should get automatic respect, and don't dare say anything negative or critical lest you offend somebody.
Yet, nobody here cares about the crap that skinny people actually have to go through. There's zero sensitivity towards any insecurities a thin person might have; they're told to shut up and quit complaining because they're "perfect". Thin people are asked point blunt if they are anorexic or if they ever eat. Thin people sometimes find themselves with a total stranger wrapping their hands around their waist going "OH MY GOSH YOU'RE SO TINY".
Another thing I feel compelled to mention is that people are not being shallow when they prefer not to date an overweight person. Being overweight isn't like being blonde, or having hazel eyes. It's a significant indication of lifestyle. Not just the life style lived to become overweight, but the life style lived as a result of it if the weight actually is from health problems. It doesn't mean somebody doesn't have overweight friends that they care about deeply, or that they can't see a person's true character or heart through the weight. It means there is an irreconcilable conflict between the way two people live if one is fit and active and participates in sports or physical activities and the other can hardly walk up a hill without needing a break.
