Ad lib questions deserve ad lib answers.
I only wanted to know how much you can add to The Documentation before you muddle and violate it so much that it can no longer be considered "The Documentation." 10%? 20%? How much?

Right -- that's what you want, isn't it?

Then what? Jonah in the whale's belly? Daniel in the lions' den? the virgin birth? the resurrection?

Where does it stop?

I love how you didn't respond to my post at all.

What about bacteria? Did unicorns give birth to bacteria?

Where are you getting your info from? Is it from a version of the Bible that has verses inserted somewhere in-between verses 1-24 in Genesis 6?

In response to your post:
-The Bible never mentions a whale.
-Daniel surviving the lion den, to me, is SLIGHTLY more believable than a unicorn giving birth to an aardvark. Because the lions den sounds like a story of heroism and faith and the unicorn-aardvark story sounds like a story that you would make up while on shrooms.
-I've never really thought much of the virgin birth, I never gave it much importance in my relationship with God.
-The resurrection can also be taken non-literally. The Bible is actually fairly ambiguous about exactly what form Jesus took when he "came alive" again. All four gospels use very enigmatic language to describe the whole event.

So really you can stop anywhere you like and I think unicorns giving birth to aardvarks is waaaaay past where I'd draw the line...mainly because there is absolutely NO EVIDENCE for it in EITHER the Bible itself, or the same-state science which we (so foolishly) use.

Well, actually nothing. According to AV1611VET's own proclaimed standards (biblical literalism) he is not allowed to add or delete anything.

Rev 22, 18-19
[18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
[19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

i think it is amazing how AV1611VET manages this thread, a thread he started himself. In the OP we read:
Here are the specific [land] kinds -- alive in Genesis
...

(Note: I may add to this list as the discussion progresses.)/QUOTE]
Now, what will it be? Are you specific, or is your list incomplete. For a thread you start youself, he even doesn't know if his own list is complete.
AV1611VEt, think this through and come back when you have a full, specific and accurate list of kinds.

Things go worse on page 2.

Picture this as an oversimplified example:
...
The unicorns disembark -- go out -- get pregnant and give birth to another unicorn, a horse, a cow, a lion and a tiger.
Again, any refutation can be shielded away with "well, by example was oversimplified".

You have only six kinds - except the doves and ravens - and you cannot give us one example that is specific. And you hope to concince us that you have something to offer.

So untill you now you have offered nothing. Your Documentation is very poor, indeed.

What about bacteria?
What about bacteria?

Why are you so hung-up on bacteria, when you disagree with aardvarks?
Did unicorns give birth to bacteria?
Did you see my 'miscellaneous' category?
In response to your post:

For the record, yes It does.

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

You take this attitude, driewerf, and you won't understand how kinds work, or how the Ark's population is actually overstated.

People like you, who try [and do] to find glitches in peoples' explanations, will go through life asking the same questions over and over again, and never understand a thing.

2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Please don't feel sorry for me; I feel sorry for you guys, who have to carry the burden on your backs of having to understand every nuance of something before you'll believe it.

You're trying to understand the Bible by walking by sight, and It doesn't work that way.

But according to AV1611VET's own self-evident "standards," he's allowed (by himself, of course) to do whatever it takes to the Bible so that he may use it to glorify himself in his never ending quest to eat Athesits for breakfast.

I hereby officially withdraw that 'never ending quest'.

Yes. Isn't it amazing how some people require things to make actual sense and not require ad hoc explanations before they will believe something. While others will make something the absolute pinnacle of truth and will allow no evidence that might contradict said truth to be acknowledged.

I don't try to understand the bible, I try to understand what you wrote. And although I don't expect much humility or modesty from you, I think you're at least humble enough not to equate your writings with your lord's words.

What if I like questioning things rather than blindly and ignorantly "understanding" things?

I think more understanding comes by questioning than by putting up the blinders.

Isn't Jesus the perfect example of someone questioning the status quo in order to teach others and give others greater understanding of God? A large volume of his most insightful teachings come when he is explicitly questioning the Pharisees and their worldview. Jesus, of all people, was not one to sit back and blindly follow what the Pharisees were saying.

I think critical thinking is a virtue. You don't, so I guess that's where we differ.

And you are left with the burden of having no mechanism to determine if your interpretation of scripture needs revising.

Then, in my opinion, you're a gift from God here -- a scientist.

And while I like to think people are gifts from God in their own way, people don't become children of God until they place their trust in Jesus Christ.

Very well.
Then we start again:
-how many kinds were there on that imaginary ark. The six you listed? Eight (doves and ravens included)? Or more?

-Which species were the offspring of the unicorn?

So the unicorn gave birth to the predator and his prey? Kin predating on kin? You are depicting your god really as a psychopath.

A kind is an animal with DNA specially encoded for punctuated equilibrium; and because of them, you don't need the Ark crammed full of every living creature in existence at the time, and you don't need long explanations as to how tree sloths got from the Ark to where they're found today, etc.
Hmm, actually yes, I still need an explanation as to how tree sloths got from the Ark to where they're found today, etc.
Because to say that a unicorn gave birth to them still doesn't explain how sloths arrived in South Amercia.

Or how the aardvark landed in South Africa.

Your 'imaginary' aside -- those I mentioned in the OP -- in my opinion.

(Note: I'm sure there were more, but this thread is an oversimplification so you can see how 'kinds' works.)
The six you listed? Eight (doves and ravens included)? Or more?
Let's go with the six I listed.

I believe some of their 'sub kinds' boarded as well -- (thus the doves and ravens); but for the sake of discussion, let's go with the six I mentioned.
-Which species were the offspring of the unicorn?
I don't know.

It's not my intention here to name kinds, then their sub-kinds, etc.

I'm not here to plant a phylogenic tree -- just to show how the Ark could have been populated, and how effective 'kinds' can be in explaining things.

No -- you guys are.

He was already accused of deception, even when He was here performing one miracle after another in front of them.

If I said He walked on water, I'm sure I would be accused of depicting Him as anything but what's in His Profile -- (the Bible, that is).

Unicorns get off the Ark, gallop (or fly) to the southern regions of Pangaea, get pregnant, have tree sloths; gallop or fly to another part, get pregnant, have aardvarks.

Later, God breaks off a chunk of Pangaea, moves it to the eastern hemisphere, along with these tree sloths, and voila -- tree sloths in South America.

Ditto for the aardvark.

Easy as delivering the newspaper.
