Wow! Could this be the y year peace treaty that is talked about in the Bible? Could this mark the start of the 7 year tribulation? Interesting for sure.

I am quite certain that this is not the seven year treaty in the Bible, because it is not being brokered by a European leader. But it is clearly a step in that direction.

What seven year peace treaty? There is no seven year peace treaty mentioned in the Bible.

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.


Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Rom 11:27 For this [is] my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.


This seven year peace treaty nonsense is not biblical. Jesus confirmed the covenant (the new covenant) with many during his 3 1/2 year ministry. He will confirm the covenant with many more - a remnant of Israel (Rev 7) for the final 3 1/2 years at His return. In the middle of the week, the sacrifice and oblation ceased because Christ was killed, ending the need for sacrifices and allowing the gentiles to come in.

Because of Israel's abominations, described in the prophets, Israel is left desolate until the end.

Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Mat 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

I agree with trialbyfire. I don't see anything in the Bible about a seven year peace treaty.

I used to believe in it because my parents told me about it as I was growing up. They believed it because their church friends told them about it when they became new Christians. Those friends believed it because they heard it from some other friends and so on and so on.

Once I started reading the Bible on my own I quickly discovered that the case for a seven year peace treaty is very weak indeed.

Besides, I can't imagine Israel agreeing to this. They would essentially be giving away any claims to ownership as soon as they agree to "lease" it from the Palestinians.

I personally believe that it is a literal 7 year treaty because of the verse that says, in the midst of the week (mid trib) in other words, he shalt cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease. I can't see this treaty (as an example) happening on a Monday, and Wednesday all Hades breaks lose with these things being stopped in a literal week. It is true that desolations are determined on Israel until the consummation (end)..or in other words, at the end of the tribulation when Christ returns. Then the remnant of the houses of Jacob and Judah will know their true Messiah.

The time of wrath is not seven years long. It is only 3 1/2 years long. There are not seven years remaining once the antichrist takes the stage, only 3 1/2.

Israel may make concessions to appease their thorny neighbors but God will have the final say on the matter. There is no true peace with muslims nor will there ever be, Scripturally.

Second, there is a bit of an inaccuracy: President Obama isn't demanding the Israelis leave their land, because the parts he is asking them to leave probably are the parts they have occupied by force against the will of the actual tenants.
