My question is can anyone sell your soul to the devil. I've been experiencing strange things that I can't explain and I was wondering if this has anything to do with it.

No. God owns people souls. No one else. Malachi points out, "10 Have we not all one Father ? Did not one God create us?"

It was never anyone else's, and you do not have the right to buy, barter, or sell even your own soul.

Such tactics are many, as Paul says, "we are not ignorant of the schemes of the Devil". It might be noted when Paul said this he was talking about a Christian whom he himself had said he would "turn over to the Devil". And this juncture, he was saying it was time to bring him back into the fold, and stated not doing so would be a scheme of the Devil.

This tactic, for instance, to get you to believe maybe you sold your soul to the Devil puts you in a state of hopelessness and helplessness. That is the whole point. It is a story which has been told to you or worked out to test whether you get stuck in the "truthfulness" of that con game... or whether you can keep moving on in faith in the love of God. That God loves you and can save you from anything and anyone who says otherwise is working with the Devil.

Or anything, such as spirits.

So always believe, press on, reject anything that would get you stuck in the mud. Because that very mud is the trap. And belief is the reaching out your hand to God, believing His Hand is there... to take you, pull you out, and put you back on your journey.

No, nobody can sell your soul to the devil. Messing with the occult can open doors to give the devil influence in your life, but God is greater than that and He can stop it if you pray to Him to break that hold over you and cast the devil and all demonic influence out of your life.

I know of more than one person who was into the occult and tried to sell or give their souls to the devil, then became Christian later because they were God's all along and He wouldn't give up their souls even while they thought they wanted to.

I would also strongly recommend to seriously ask hard questions on Scripture and search out matters. Doubt what you have heard. Look out for mythologies even if they seem to be strongly accepted by "church" authorities.

Stick to Scripture at first, and believe God can speak to you in your heart. Hold on to the concept of seeking, which is a promise, "if you seek, you will find".

Don't hold to Scripture without also turning to God who is always right there, as the Pharisees did, "You search and search Scripture, yet refuse to come to me".

The way really is off the beaten track. It should not be assumed the many are there - though they may be, for purposes of not judging them - but it should be taken that even if they are, the road is not the same road the masses are taking. Nor the many.

And it is hard to find.

God is the answer to all questions. God has all the answers. And is as close as prayer. Even the thoughts in your heart, God always has before Him.

You should be thirsty, but never feel there is never any answer to that thirst. That is where faith comes in.

Our soul is our individuality . It's not so much what we are , as it is who we are ...

If we listen to God , and accept / adopt His Word / Way then our soul is conformed to His .

But if we listen to the devil , and accept / apply his lies / deceptions , then our individuality takes on his devilish nature .

Such is not technically " selling one's soul " , but is sometimes metaphorically referred to as such .

It doesn't seem possible that someone else could cause us to choose such an ongoing course... though we certainly have the potential to exert some influence on each other , ultimately each of us chooses for ourself , what we believe , and who we should trust / follow .

However , it isn't that far fetched , that someone ( with bad intent ) would devilishly try to convince others that they had such power as to destine the fate of others - but such is a lie , which could only exert some power over us , if we erronously believed it were true .

Hope this is helpful to you .

Dear Mooncresentgirl. You had some good replies. But to make doubly sure, " keep saying: I belong to Jesus, I love Jesus, and I am His: body and soul." We know that at the Name of Jesus, Satan and all demonic/satanic beings will FLEE. I say this with love. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

No one can sell their souls to the devil. However the bible does say that whosoever you yield yourself a servant of, his servant you are. Meaning if you yield yourself over to the devil, he will be your master. The devil however, is never the owner of you and can never keep you beyond your own will. Many people believed that they sold their souls to the devil and the devil invented the lie that once you have done that, your soul is his forever. Thats just a lie because you are your own soul and control your own destiny.

Christians can't, our souls aren't ours anymore to sell. Jesus owns them, and he's not letting go. An unbeliever theoretically could, but God has both the power and will to rescue souls who are in the devil's hands.

"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39 NLT)

If this were on facebook I would 'like' this :D

I am also a strong advocate of asking hard questions and spending time seeking the answers and talking to God. Without God, the things written in the Bible are as comprehensible as Babel. God takes these words and gives them life and purpose in your soul.

We each seek our own salvation:

Romans
Chapter 10

9 for, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

As you can see it's all up to you.

If you were to read GOD'S WORD and lock IT in your heart:

ONCE YOU KNOW THE TRUTH, THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE

Then you become free of strange doctrines.

Legitimately in God's sight...no. Illegitimately in Satan's sight...yes.

Generally speaking, Satan is an unprincipled rascal who has no reservations about working on both sides of the law. If he can work against you legally, he certainly will, as in the case of Peter found in Luke 22:31 where it appears that Satan had God's permission to commandeer Peter. If he has no legal footing to work against you, (as in the case of the perfectly flawless Lord Jesus while in the days of his flesh,) Satan will still fight against you illegally, just as he did the pure and spotless Christ, restlessly harassing him right up till his death upon the cross and even physically "taking" him in Matt. 4:8.

I don't think that Satan can legally own you through an act of committal on your part in God's sight, as that would be a clear violation of the very purpose for your creation: To be a habitation for God the Creator, and to be his peculiar possession and for his eternal glory. Satan, (being the one and only original con man,) won't let that stop him though. He will be more than happy to possess and domineer anyone at all upon earth who gives him the liberty to do so. Now, in the case of a truly born again and Holy Spirit indwelt child of God, this is not practicably possible to any great degree. The problem for Satan in domineering a true believer is due to the fact that such a believer is indwelt by a properly omnipotent Being who infinitely outranks Satan not only in point of power, but also legally speaking, as a Christian has already been punished in Christ's substitutionary punishment of death, and also rendered legally righteous by virtue of participation in Christ's preceptively righteous life, and that is why he or she has been marked out for ownership by God the Holy Spirit.

If an unbeliever gives or "sells" themselves to the devil in a horrible act of ignorance and miscalculation, Satan will definitely possess or domineer that party to the extent of their committal to Satan. This acquisition by Satan will not stand trial before God in the awful Day of Judgment, but that won't stop our lawless adversary from working contrary to the law in the possess of a person who was originally created to be the habitation of another and for Him alone.

If a true believer, (for some strange and bizarre reason,) were to give themselves up to the devil, Satan still could not properly acquire such a person, as Satan cannot displace an omnipotent Being who has legally taken up residence within their human spirit faculty. However, Satan can physically, mentally and emotionally assault or afflict such a foolish Christian for their act of misguided devotion, which choice they will soon thereafter regret, "...but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire". I Cor. 3:15

In either case, any so called "ownership" of a person by Satan is a meandering sort of illegal mischief that God will eventually iron out to the adversary's dismay, but Satan is a very good opponent who knows well the meaning of the two English words "Deceive" and "Stall", and so he will. If a purified liar knocks at your front door, holds up a shabby document that purports to be the title to your house, show him your legal title written in Christ's blood, and then unceremonially slam the door right in his face. If you presently do not hold title to the house, (an unbeliever,) and Satan's title appears to be legitimate in claim, tell him to momentarily wait outside while you resort to the office section of your residence. There fall down upon your knees in penitant prayer and confession before God the Father, hand over to him anything or everything that is possibly attached to you in any and all sinful liabilities, plead before Him the pardoning and justifying efficacy of the blood of Christ his dear Son, and there find your consolation in the fact that the debts of the house that were once yours, are now Christ's forever, while you and all that you own are indisputedly turned over unto his possession and are now his responsibility. Walk calmly back to the door, tell your accuser plainly of the transfer of liability from you back unto Christ the Lord of all creation, tell this so called but lying "owner" to take up any further arguments of foreclosure with Christ your legal representative, and then likewise slam the door in his face, which clever and deceitful adversary has been eternally outwitted by Him who is wiser than all.

It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:11-13 NASB

But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 NASB

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13 NASB

I know you posed the question some time ago, however i noticed nobody hit the nail on the head here.
The Fact is Yes anyone can, The occult is found all over the globe and satan is the god of this fallen world which God will destroy.
It's a contract, a pact you sign in your own blood... in doing so you must forsake God and hid offer of salvation, giving yourself over in exchange for wordly fame/fortune/talents....whatever you wish.... you must remember that satan offered jesus the world in the wilderness if he would forsake the father and bow to him.... it's no different and Christ was tempted as a man

It's a very serious thing and involves blood sacrifices and possession..... there is no going back and it is all made clear beforehand, in short one can forfeit the chance of eternal life with God for temporary reward and riches now in this life ergo the modus operandi of these people is to preserve their earthly existence for as long as possible in the full knowledge there is nothing for them in the hereafter.
It's a most foolish course of action with no remedy, yet many indulge.... there are generational sell outs too, whole families...bloodlines.

Those whom are seemingly at odds with this truth are either tares, ignorant or just don't fully understand the issue. hope this helps your understanding. walking in wisdom the fact this is real and what it actually is, is all one needs to know.... you do not mess with the occult.

never heard of this in the scripture.

even if the devil ask you and you agreed, can you do it?

what does it say in the scripture?

ask someone in your church.
