I was recalling this morning the days, long ago, when my brothers, sister and I were members of the Christian Youth Crusaders. The words to one of the songs we sang went like this: "I may never march in the infantry, ride in the calvary, shoot the artillery. And I may never zoom o'er the enemy, but I'm in the Lord's army."
Funny how things like this come to mind out of nowhere. So much of my youth I forgot due to an early tragedy in our family. It shook us all to the core.
Were any of you a member of the Christian Youth Crusaders? There was another song we sang, the words of which I can recall only vaguely. It started with, "I am a Christian Youth Crusader. I live (or have) a (something) code....." Does anyone recall it? Truth is, I can't recall in which church denomination this activity took place.
